Mojo Monday #472

Mojo 472 photo Mojo472pic.jpg

Time for some square card fun!!  Always a joy to work with a square sketch.  Not sure what it is about them, but really enjoy them.  Maybe it is the anal side of me coming through LOL!

For some reason I was in the mood to make a Christmas card so that is the direction I went in.  A big old doily to start, then a big snowflake and lastly the sentiment panel with another snowflake to balance things off.  Lots of blues for that cool, winter, snowy feeling and a touch of sparkle for good measure {grin}.

All the challenge details are over on the Mojo Monday blog and you can also view all the wonderful Mojo Makers samples.  Should you wish more details on the Mojo Maker's cards, you can also visit their individual blogs noted below.

Our weekends continue to be a blur with tomorrow being November 1st - meeep!!!   I have resigned myself to the fact life won't slow down this year until Christmas (sorry I said the "C" word {grin}.   It has been that type of year.   Already looking forward to time off over Christmas, jammie puzzle making days and time as a family - all priceless :)

In addition, today is recap time for the current sketch over on the Viva La Verve blog. This week Lesley has created this sketch for us to work with.

I fudged the three circles a bit by using three pots from Potter's Clay and the matching Pottery die set.  I just love  working with Fall colours as they always make me happy!  Added a bit of texture with the crimped panel and grounded things with the twine.

You can see which cards I have spotlighted from our gallery as well as get lots more inspiration over on the Viva La Verve blog.

Thanks for popping in today and have a fabulous weekend!

Mojo Monday #471

Mojo 471 photo Mojo471pic.jpg

It's Mojo Monday time once again.  Love starting my week off with a great sketch :)

When I saw the stars on the sketch, I immediately went in to masculine card mode and from there I decided to make a baby boy card. Pulled out Birthday Bots which I haven't used for a long time and went to work.  Stamped my favorite "bot", fussy cut him out, coloured him and then used the Starry die set and a star die for the star cluster.  Needed to fill in some white space so added the number "3" to the focal panel and finished things off with a banner from the Flag It die set and a button.

All the challenge details are over on the Mojo Monday blog and you can also view all the wonderful Mojo Makers samples.  Should you wish more details on the Mojo Maker's cards, you can also visit their individual blogs noted below.

Have fun with the sketch and I look forward to seeing your take on the sketch in the gallery.

Mojo Monday #470

 photo Mojo470pic.jpg

We were hit by a big, blustery storm this weekend, so staying cozy and warm inside was the agenda for the weekend - perfect for a little crafting time :)

My poor son had to ref soccer this weekend, but managed to get away fairly unscathed as for the most part, his games fell during the "lulls" in the wind and rain.  I must confess to not going to this weekend's games as I do not do well in cold, windy weather at the best of times, so his dad got the honor and I stayed home warm and dry making some butternut squash soup for everyone to come home to.

I have been negligent in using my beloved leaf dies so they came out to play for this sketch.  Our street is lined with maple trees which just makes me swoon :)   The sentiment is from Lean On Me.

All the challenge details are over on the Mojo Monday blog and you can also view all the wonderful Mojo Makers samples.  Should you wish more details on the Mojo Maker's cards, you can also visit their individual blogs noted below.

Enjoy the sketch and have a fabulous week!

Inspired By All The Little Things Guest Designer

I am excited to share that I have been asked to be a Guest Designer at Inspired By All The Little Things!   Thanks for the honor of joining you this week, ladies :)

Today we have this fabulous inspiration photo to work with!   I love the fabulous colour array of these cloth pumpkins.  As fate would have it, Verve Stamps just had a release last week, and, you got it, there are pumpkin images and matching pumpkin dies!!  A total win/win :)

I used a old Freshly Made Sketch and decided to duplicate some of the pumpkin colours from the photo as they are just too fun!  Believe it or not, there is such a thing as a blue pumpkin!  I learned about them and actually saw one while helping out with my kids' Pumpkin Patch field trips.  They are a grey blue and come in varying depths of colour.  Who knew??!!!   Added a wood grain background as per the wood table and shadowed the "blessed" die for a bit of dimension.

Have a wonderful week and I look forward to seeing your creations in the Inspired By The Little Things gallery!
