Simple Mother's Day Card

We have been basking in a wonderful week of sunshine with temperatures going up to 17C (65F).  My tulips are now blooming and the rhodo's are about to explode into bloom too.  It even smelled like Spring today - yes, Spring has a definite smell to it LOL!   Our hummingbirds have returned, much to our delight, and are sucking back the sugar water.  Can't wait until the little ones are born and come to feed as well.  Spring also means ramping up my exercise routine so the old legs and arms are ready and toned for spring and summer clothing!  Gravity and age definitely take a tole on the body and the older you get the harder you have to work to keep things toned and where they should be LOL!

Okay, you didn't tune in today to hear about my aging body so on to the card!!  Karen has another wonderful sketch this week and I actually used it for something other than a Curtain Call card so I can link it to her blog this week - yeah!

Loved the idea of using flowers, as per the sketch, so went with it.  I punched and mounted them across the top of  the panel and added some yellow half pearls to the middles.  I placed the sentiment panel beneath them and since it looked a bit blah, I added a flower on the side of it as well.  Some celery ribbon finished things off.

Hope you are enjoying your week.  Hope to be back soon with another card.

  5. Oh those little flowers are so sweet! What a beautiful clean design Marisa.

I remember the Rhododendrons when we went on that trip to Keat's Island with our staff. I was just astonished by their beauty! You are so blessed to have them!

  6. Oh, I love spring...you are really rocking these floral cards...love the little bling. Even though Spring is my favourite season...Fall has a definite smell to me...that first early morning end of September that is "cold" and has a "cold" smell. I will have a nice cold drink for you on that patio somewhere after work tomorrow :)

I can't believe your hummingbirds are back. Ours should be here but not yet. Usually around Mother's day.. My tulips and irises are so pretty right now.. :) I look at them as I am running by to get into summer shape.. Gravity is not kind..
