Color Dare 85
Melon Mambo
Blushing Bride
Pacific Point
I love the two pinks with the pop of Pacific Point in this week's colour challenge. I don't own any Blushing Bride, so subbed in a colour from my LSS which I hope is a close match :)
I combined this week's colours with Mercy's Sketch. Just love this woman's sketches!! You can dress them up of keep them simple, the sky is the limit :)
I pulled out the very first Verve set I ever purchased - Serenity. Yes, this set is where my Verve addition began LOL! Julee has so many fabulous sentiments in her sets and a wonderful selection of Bible verses as Plain Janes in fonts that I absolutely love (not to mention her flowers!). I over stamped the sentiment with the Serenity leaf image, but it 's a bit hard to see as it is such a light colour.
Continuing with my addition theme, out came the lacy circle nesties again. I crimped the horizontal banner for some added dimension and embossed the melon mambo panel with a new embossing folder I don't even know the name of just yet LOL! One of the local scrapbooking stores I shop at brilliantly split up the four packs they now come in so you can buy them individually. I twisted my rubber arm for, oh.....about a second, and into my basket it went :) Two leaves from Verve's Autumn Splendor, a button and two black half pearls finished the card of nicely.

ReplyDeleteYou are making it VERY hard to resist those lacey Nesties when you crank out all these beautiful cards using them! :-) Love all the texture you included...great job using these bright colors (well, 2 out of 3 are eye poppers).
ReplyDeleteThere are so many wonderful elements on this card, Marisa! I love the texture that the crimping and embossed panel add, and the watermark effect of the leaves behind the sentiment is lovely.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, Marisa! I do like how you over stamped the sentiment and that embossing folder is very pretty, too. Hope you didn't hurt your arm with the twisting...LOL
ReplyDeleteMarisa, you did a super job with these challenge colors!! I just love that combo of bright and pretty colors. Lovely job on the layout, and once again I love how you overstamped your sentiment with a subtle image.
ReplyDeleteAnother perfect color challenge completed! Your ef is awesome - especially in melon mambo and those lacy nesties really may need to be my next investment. You always do them up perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI have always loved that quote and I love how you've framed it so beautifully in this sketch and with these colours!
ReplyDeleteso pretty!!! Love all the texture and that new embossing folder!!! Tres chic!! One of my favourite verses too...in times of trouble, knowing when to let it go :)
ReplyDeleteLove the red embossed panel and the sentiment is so PERFECT!!
ReplyDeleteI went to check out the latest callenge at The Color Dare and this stopped me in my tracks! Such a gorgeous use of the colors, you have completely inspired me. That embossing folder is a must-have, too!! :)
ReplyDeleteI like the choice of embossing. The sentiment looks pretty with the faint image behind it. Such a great accent with the leaves and button.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Marisa. I love how you've placed the verse in a circle.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful. I love the way you stamped the verse and the flower. This is becoming one of my fav. embossing folders. Great job..
ReplyDeleteJust beautiful Marisa. I wouldn't have thought these were the easiest colours to work with, but you have done an amazing job. I love the Verve sentiment and the embossed background, just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely fabulous! Love your leaves and the crimping!
