Inkspirations Christmas Blog Hop

If you arrived from Lee-Anne's blog you are right on track.  If you happened upon the hop and want to see more, you can always go to the Inkspirations Challenge Blog for a complete list of participants and start from the beginning.

This week the Inkpirations Challenge Blog is hosting a Christmas Blog hop instead of a sketch or colour challenge in the hopes of providing you with some inspiration for Christmas gift ideas.

My first project is these coaster gift boxes.  I have a ton of coasters in my stash I haven't used for years, so it was high time to use them.  My daughter and I had a lot of fun working on these together.  The link to the SCS tutorial is here.

The boxes are filled with Lindt chocolates wrapped in cellophane with a multiple loop raffia bow and a die cut snowflake.  Needless to say, we could have probably made one more box if we hadn't eaten a few.....okay, more than a few....chocolates along the way LOL!  They will be gifted to my kids' teachers as a little something extra to the class gift.  They can either enjoy it themselves or use it as a hostess gift over the Christmas Season.

My second project is a Tissue Box cover.  A perfect little something to add to your bathroom at Christmas for a pop of colour and a great way to dress up your standard tissue box for Christmas.  The link to the SCS tutorial is here.

I used Sahara Sand for my base and then added this lovely Basic Grey Jovial DP to cover the box.  A bit of white trim for a little something and I called it a day as I didn't want to cover up the gorgeous poinsettias on the DP.  Not sure if I'll keep it and use it in my bathroom or give it away LOL!  Think I'll make another one so I don't have to decide :)

This will be the last Inkspiration Challenge of 2010 as we'll be taking a little break over Christmas.  The Inkspiration Challenges will resume on January 7, 2011 (boy does that feel weird typing that LOL!).  Thanks to all of you have played along with us this year and we look forward to seeing your creations next year!

Okay, I've kept you here long enough!  Now it's time to hop on over to Julie Leblanc's blog for some more inspiration.

  15. Marisa, you've inspired me to dig out my 100 or so coasters and make something with them. I'm like you and haven't used them for ages. I love what you've done with them, love the papers and really love what's inside :) Perfect touch with the raffia and snowflakes too.
Love your tissue box cover too, thanks for the link to the tutorial. I love that you've let the papers take centre stage and the hint of the white scallop is just right.
Enjoy the last week before Christmas. Xx
