Inkspirations Colour Challenge #72

This week's colours were a wonderful combination for a masculine card.  I  used an A La Monkey Card challenge from a week ago in which you had to use their sketch to create a birthday card.  Since I needed a birthday card for my brother, this was a perfect combination.

I'm betting my brother will give me a bit of grief for boldly proclaiming his age on this card in a colour he is not fond of, but I just had to use my new PTI number dies and take some big sister liberties LOL!

Being as it was a masculine card, I distressed the edges, added different textures and used twine instead of ribbon.  A star with a button finished things off nicely.

The rest of the Design Team has some fabulous cards for your inspiration.

  1. These colours do make an awesome masculine card Marisa! Love your big swiss dotted numbers & the star, twine & button trim. Is the diamond texture from an embossing folder? All the texture is fantastic. Great card! Enjoy your weekend. :)

  2. Oh, I don't think we ever grow out of the big sister "nudging"...I think our brothers still need it! This is a great card, Marisa...perfect for a guy, especially one who maybe needs a little remembrance of what his age really is (literally, not mentally...haha!) Have a great weekend, my dear!

  5. oh, cool!! You got the dies too!! Aren't they fun? Did you get the stamp set that goes with them? I'm sure he won't mind you proclaiming his age... or maybe just don't tell him!! I use the trick of telling people I'm 10 years older than I am so they say, "wow! you look fabulous for your age!" ;) Sunny skies so that means our basement floor gets poured! Will pop up and take another picture after school...then we're off to get flooring samples :) Hope yesterday went well at the trackmeet :)
