A Verve Thanks
After Tosh's double skewed panel sketch last week, it was a delight to use Amber's straight forward sketch this week...happy sigh... LOL!
This is another teacher thank you card off my list. So many wonderful teachers in our school, as well as admin staff in the office, that I could be making thank you cards for the next week or more LOL!
Switched out the oval for a heart (any excuse to use hearts - hee hee) and used the debossed side of this gorgeous embossing folder I picked up at Walmart for a steal of a deal, as the embossed side overpowered the heart.
The roses and ribbon finished things off wonderfully, and I was very glad I decided to buy the blue version of these Recollections flowers at Mike's when they were on clearance as they were perfect for this card. The DP is a retired SU DP and I have no clue what it was called it is so old!
In keeping with my card theme, thanks for all your wonderful comments and visits - they make my day :)
What's In It?
Stamps: (Verve) Thanks
Paper: SU DSP, Going Grey, Certainly Celery
Ink: Black
Accessories: Victoria Embossing Folder, Scalloped Heart and Heart Nesties, SU Border Punch, Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch, Recollections Roses, Half Pearls, 5/8" Sheer Mint Ribbon, Dimensionals
Beautiful colors, Marisa...I snagged a bunch of these flowers, too...seems like when they finally make something good they discontinue them! Like the pearls in a line as well....poof! Gone forever!
ReplyDeleteI love the effect of the reverse embossing...you're right, it's the perfect amt of texture without detracting from the butterfly. Great job!
Have a fabulous day...hope you get some good crafting time in before the kiddos are set free!
Marisa, this is BEAUTIFUL! Wow! Love all that white!
ReplyDeleteLove the choice of colors and your heart layering is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteOoh, Marisa...love this one. I adore the color of the ribbon and roses.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card!
ReplyDeleteI'm heading off for a morning of card-making at a friend's house, and I didn't have any projects planned - until I saw your card. I have a pile of embossed panels, and a bag full of shapes. I think I should be able to make a few cards!
P.S. I still have that DP too!
Gorgeous Marisa!!! Love the soft feel and beautiful bow!!!!

ReplyDeleteOh, WOW!! This is SO pretty, Marisa. I love the soft, dreamy look. And yes, those roses are perfect!! Gorgeous everything here, my friend. :)
ReplyDeleteSOOOOOO Gorgeous Marissa!!!
ReplyDeleteAww Marisa!! You are a bad advert for stamp companies!! LOL I could quite easily throw away 90% of my stamps 'coz you've shown that we just don't need 'em!!! Look at this fabulous card for example! One simple greeting and the rest is done exquisitely without a stamp in sight!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, food for thought!
Love Viv xxx
Another exquisite creation Marisa; you never, ever disappoint! I want to make cards like you when I grow up, lol!! xx

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! I love the debossing, the use of the hearts and those cutesy flowers. This would make a lovely wedding combination. How sad....I think I have some of that paper, too. If not, I at least remember it ;)
ReplyDeleteFresh.... oh so sweet with the heart and tag combo. Hope you are enjoying summer! :0)
