Autumn Splendor
Another fabulous sketch by Diva Maureen for us to play with this week. After a brief hiatus from leaf cards, my addiction overcame me and I had to make another one.
I just love working with the colours of fall...happy sigh... :) This Lime Twist DP was perfect for the middle panel and I crimped the sides for a bit of texture and added my beloved maple leaf in lieu of the smaller circle. Was wishing I had some cream grosgrain or natural twill ribbon instead of the satin ribbon as they would have fit the earthy feel of this card a bit better, but no such luck. On to my shopping list they go!
So nice to be all caught up on my October Verve sketches :) I'll be working for hubby again in November so I'm enjoying my time in my craft area as much as I can along with getting things ready for fall inside and out (eg: trip to laundromat to wash all the summer comforters in their extra large washers/dryers, hoses brought in for the winter, plants in the yard trimmed down, annual flowers pulled out etc.). Sure the leaves I am so in love with on my cards will begin to fall on my lawn soon enough and not be such a pleasure too!
What's In It?
Stamps: Kind Words and Autumn Splendor (Verve), Leaf Prints (PTI)
Paper: Lime Twist DP, Early Espresso, Kraft, Rudy Red, Cream Linen, More Mustard
Ink: Black, VersaMark
Accessories: Leaf Die (PTI), Scalloped Circle and Circle Nesties, Threading Water Border Punch, Button, Twine, 5/8" Cream Satin Ribbon, Crimper, Brown Half Pearls, Dimensionals
Yes, autumn leaves are nice on a card, not so nice when they need to be raked! LOL Am happy to see you using a leaf die again, Marisa. ;)
ReplyDeleteOh this is beautiful!!! I haven't done this sketch yet! Love that leaf die! Wish I'd ordered it now :( LOL!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder about the hoses....ack! I have to disconnect and bring mine into the garage!
Beautiful, Marisa! The fall colors look wonderful, and I love the way the leaf frames the edge of the sentiment. Did you stamp the leaf pattern on the kraft panel? It looks great!
ReplyDeleteOne gorgeous Christmas card and then back to the much loved leaf. I see why you love it so much, Marisa. Super card!
ReplyDeleteWe have some of that winter preparation to do, also. Oh, come back hot summer!
Ah, how can you have Autumn splendor without a Maple leaf? wink, wink...
ReplyDeleteThis card is perfectly sweet, Marisa...love the Fall colors and the fabulously clean "MarisaStyle" lines. A delight for the eyes! :)
ah, another beautiful leaf and I'm not tired of them! Although, raking them, yes!! I think we are going to get a maple tree for the new house and will just have to suck it up!! It's windy where we'll be so maybe we won't have to rake much!! Our neighbours will love us!! LOL That sentiment always reminds me of my son :)
ReplyDeleteI love the autumn colours too, and your card marries them with the sketch so well! Love seeing all the different ways you use your maple leaf too! I have a maple leaf stamp, but no punch yet, so it doesn't get used that often - it's just too fiddly to cut out, so I'll continue to enjoy yours!
ReplyDeleteMarisa, this is awesome! Great colors and detailing! I am still eyeballing that leaf die! Terrific card!
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! I am in love with this card! Totally gorgeous! That leaf is so pretty!! TFS!
ReplyDeleteGet out the rake...it's coming!! Beautiful take on this sketch and that maple leaf is perfect!!! You're getting ready for busy times with DH and I'm dreaming of a slow down, LOL!!
ReplyDeleteLovely card! The fall colors are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteanother gorgeous card with a perfect balance of colours! lots of fabulous little details to engage the eye! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Marisa! In Brazil we are at Spring time, but we do not really have defined seasons like you people, so considering all the cards'challenges around the world, I have even more scrap possibilities at all times of the year! : )
ReplyDeleteAh... yes, love this fall card of yours!

Love this fall inspired card. The beautiful leaf as focal point is spectacular. Love the layout, little punched border and the cute button. Simply superb!
