New Mercies
This week's challenge over on the JUGS Blog is a colour challenge and the mix is one of my favorites - happy sigh :) Spring moss, light pink and cream and I tossed in a bit of white for good measure. I also paired it with this week's Cards and Things sketch.
I used the fabulous Verve set New Mercies to make a sympathy card for the family of the man who used to be the Chairman of the Board at our church. He was a warm, talented, very intelligent man who at a young age (age 50) had an amazing skill at taking input from people and condensing it all into a few key points that were right on the money. He loved kids, was a huge overgrown kid himself, a great family man, husband and natural born leader. His memorial service is going to be a big one and his presence will be dearly missed in many circles....
We'd love you to play along with this week's challenge. Simply make a card and link it to the challenge post. If you don't have a blog you can use an online gallery and use key word JUGS128. Who knows, you could be this week's winner :)
What's In It?
Stamps: New Mercies (Verve)
Paper: Cream Linen, Mellow Moss DSP (SU), Pretty in Pink
Ink: Black, Sahara Sand
Accessories: Lacy Square Nesties, Flutterby Die (Verve), 5/8" Pink Sheer Ribbon, Pink Half Pearls, Buttons, Twine, Glue Dots, Dimensionals
Marisa, sympathy cards are always hard to make but you've done a beautiful job and I'm sure the family will appreciate it.

Absolutely gorgeous! The pink is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI find it difficult enough to make sympathy cards, especially when it's for someone so young.
ReplyDeleteThese colours make a very elegant card, and the verse works well for the occasion - and hopefully, it's comforting for the family too.
Serene, soft and perfect, Marisa. Beautiful verse/sentiment, too.
ReplyDeleteMarisa, this is absolutely beautiful and the verse is very comforting. I'm sorry about the loss...reminds me of when our community choir music minister passed away...so heartbreaking for those left behind missing him..and still do.
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous card and especially love the tiny pink pearls you added to the frame! A wonderful verse and so sad for all of you in what sounds like a tremendous loss in this leader!
ReplyDeleteLovely card and perfect colors for you!!! Love it!!!

This one is no exception though I am truly sorry for the need of it. It is lovely and will bring some comfort to the family. The background stamping behind the sentiment is beautiful. ((hugs))

ReplyDeleteSo sad and so very young! Love these colors and that wonderful scripture, Marisa! Especially love how you stamped that Sunny Days softly behind the verse! Just add that special finishing touch! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMarisa, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend...way toooooo young, but God has a bigger plan! I absolutley love this Psalm, one of my favorite ones :) and the card captures this Psalm so beautifully! Hugs ~S~
