Felt Is In Da House!!
This week's Mojo Monday sketch was designed by Terersa. It's nice and straight forward and the large circle has endless possibilities :)
Since I finally own felt in a wonderful array of colours thanks to Michelle's enabling (thanks Michelle), I decided to make my first ever felt flower...love....happy sigh.... :) I know, I know, I'm slow to get on the bandwagon, but now that I'm on it, be forewarned LOL!
I made the card pictured above first but then thought a felt flower should have felt leaves so I swapped out the leaf sprig for some felt leaves (case of beginner felt user??). Below is a picture of the remake. Which do you prefer? (Sorry for the poor quality of the second picture - it's a true testament to the power of good lighting versus not so good lighting!).
This Verve sentiment is one of my favorites. It's a great reminder to not continually focus on what life isn't but rather be thankful for all you have and enjoy what each day has to offer. Wise words to live by :)
Still enjoying glorious weather out here on the West Coast and with a long weekend coming up I can finally get some down time -- and stamping time if all goes well :)
Carpe Diem!!
What's In It?
Stamps: Wise Words, Sunny Days (Verve)
Paper: Heritage DP (Bella Blvd), Sahara Sand, Mellow Moss, Pretty in Pink, Early Espresso
Ink: Black, Mellow Moss
Accessories: Lacy Circle and Circle Nesties, Flower Die (PTI) Leafy Sprigs Die (Verve), Distressed Stripes Embossing Folder, Button, Felt, Baker's Twine, Brown Half Pearls, Bling, Glue Dots, Dimensionals
They both equal winners Marisa! LOVE that sentiment! xxx
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! Isn't felt awesome?! I LOVE to use it on my cards in many shades or elements! Always adds so much fun to the card! Enjoy your long weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteAnother pretty color combo! Looks fabulous~
ReplyDeletewoohoo for felt! You are going to love it! I like both cards! Now it's going to be even more difficult...felt leaves or paper leaves? Burlap or cork or canvas or fabric...it can drive a girl crazy :) The sun needs a little encouragement here, but we should have sunshine too :)
ReplyDeleteDon't make me make a decision...they're both great. Love the felt flower and the embossed bg looks great.
ReplyDeleteThe is beautiful, Marisa! Welcome to the world of wonderful felt!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card. I like the felt leaves better, I love making felt flowers. TFS
ReplyDeleteOoh, I love them both Marisa. Did you die cut the flower? I'm not on this bandwagon yet, lol!

I like them both! And yay for trying out felt! I have some but haven't tried it yet! Wonderful cards!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card and LOVE that flower with leaves!!
I love them both, Marisa, but I think the felt flowers may just win a little more...because I'm a sucker for felt! Gorgeous card and awesome use of the sketch =)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful!! I dunno...like the felt leaves, but those spriggy ones are great, too! Enjoy your w/e and the calmer agenda! We're going to be busy moving some things to the house in Wash. D.C. where our oldest son and DIL bought. Fun.
ReplyDeleteLove your felt flower!! Both look good to me!! Wonderful use of the sketch! Don't worry about pics, I have no good lighting taking most of my pics at night....do have a couple ott lights though!
ReplyDeleteI like both....with the felt leaves or paper leaves. Felt is a lot of fun....I have to thank Dawn Easton for sending me some in a little care package...otherwise, I wouldn't have bought any yet either. :)
ReplyDeleteboth are fabulous Marisa, but I think the 2nd one takes it by a whisker, the felt leave are perfect with the felt flower! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a positive and true statement this card makes. Wow! Your cards are just the best Marisa. Every one makes me feel a little better about things - so positive and affirming and so beautiful!!!HugZ!
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful!!! Once you have gone felt, it is so hard to go back - LOL! Especially with rolled flowers!! Love these!
ReplyDeleteI'm *always* slow to get on bandwagons, too. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your felty flower, anyhow!
One of my very favorite Verve sentiments...and you've highlighted it marvelously with the Lacey Circle and the gorgeous felt flower! Simply dreamy!
