Playing With Some Mojo and a Splash Colour

2012 Faves

Time for another round card  as it's round or square week over at the Mojo Monday blog.  I combined the sketch with this week's Play Date Cafe's Color Splash challenge.  Such a dramatic colour combo I just had to give it a try.  Plus I just love black and white cards, and when you add a pop of colour it is always a great way to add some of pizzaz :)

I enabled myself by using some of my favorite things on this card: a round card, lacy circle nesties, polka dots and a butterfly.  Yes, I was a happy girl making this card :)

Down to just a few days of school left and then we are into summer full swing.  Still doesn't feel right due to the severe lack of sunshine and warm weather the past three months!!  Here's hoping the weather turns around because cold, wet weather and kids home 24/7 is not a good combination for a mom's sanity to stay in tact LOL!

What's In It?
Stamps: Joyful Blooms (Verve)
Paper: Sugar Dots (Bo Bunny), Black, Brilliant Blue
Ink: Black
Accessories:  Lacy Circle and Circle Nesties, Flutterby Die (Verve), Seeing Spots Embossing Folder, 5/8" Sheer Black Ribbon, Crimper, Button, 1/4" Black Satin Ribbon, Bling, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

  6. Oh, wowzers...talk about elegant! Fabulous color combination, the blue butterfly just screams "Look at me!" I'm not sure though, that butterflies scream in real life, but if they did, that's exactly what she would be saying! Fantastic, Marisa!

  8. I have been so out of touch recently with so many blogs and SCS and even my own craft room. I have missed so many Verve challenges and Mojo Mondays I don't know if I'll even be able to create once I don get into my room again. But I'm so glad to see that you are not having that same problem. Your card is gorgeous. I love the black and white combo with that beautiful blue crimped butterfly and fun button center. All the polka dots are wonderful.

  19. Love me some polka dots and sheer ribbon where they peek through! Wonderful splash of blue with a crimped butterfly! I'm still "reeling" from my life! Finally turned over some stuff at work but, have been to the urgent care twice in the past week with boating accidents ( youngest DD and hubby)...geeesh!

  20. Marisa, this is beautiful. The blue flower totally makes it pop off the page! Love your paper choices. After looking at this, I did go start a circle card. I am not happy with it yet but I started it. You are so inspirational to me. Hugz!!!

  21. What a beauty, Marisa. I LOVE this color combo.

Hey, I'll send you some heat. It will be in the 100's for 5 straight days here, with Saturday being the highest at 104 degrees. Plus, this past weekend we had two days at 102 degrees. Come South if you want warmth. :-)

  22. Are you still having a Juneuary? What a shame. Summer is such a nice time ('long as it's not TOO hot and humid), and I'll bet you'd love some warmth and sunshine.

Your card is so pretty in all its roundness!
