Vicki has brought this week's technique challenge and it is a fun one. You just need to use a negative die cut on your card - easy peasy and loads of fun :)
This week's CASE(E) this sketch was perfect for today's challenge and as luck would have it my new W9 Plus dies arrive today in the mail so I got to use them!
I also just "had" to use Verve's new Banner Trim Trio die again as I just love them!! The hearts border is my favorite and fit perfectly with the card's love theme. I also used one of the Wavy Hearts die and the cute falling heart from Stronger Love. Happy accident: the heart left two holes where the alignment tools are on the die so I filled them in using bling :)
I apologize profusely for the poor picture - argh!! I have a hard time taking pictures of white cards at the best of times and today's sunny day has wrecked havoc on my lighting! Will edit the photo as soon as I get a chance. CAS gals out there - if you have any photography tips for white cards, please let me know!
The rest of the JUGS team has some wonderful samples to get your inspiration going, so just hop on over to the Just Us Girls blog, and check out what the Design Team has created. Then put your creative genes to work and add your card/project to the challenge post on the JUGS blog for the chance to be selected as Chic of the Week.
Have a fabulous weekend, and I'll be back on Monday with my Mojo Monday card!

Oh I always have to use Picasa to change the white balance on my cards! I love the soft pink and gray with the white Marisa...perfectly CAS.
ReplyDeleteOh this is FANTASTIC! I love the use of the negative!!! Sweet!
ReplyDeleteWay to use the negative! Looks good with the pink against the white.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty card Marisa!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love this! Great happy accident too! :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful CAS card...love the splash of pink against the all-white background!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love all the hearts and the soft pink! TFS.
ReplyDeleteLovely Marisa! I soooo want to use that sketch!
ReplyDeleteSuch soft and sweet colors! I so love the little "flying" heart in the die cut heart! Thanks for joining us at CAS(E) this Sketch!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! And I love that you used the rhinestones to fill those "accidental" holes!
ReplyDeleteAnd as for photographing white cards - they are the worst! It probably depends on what photo editing software you use, but I always adjust the lighting and color curve (in Photoshop Elements). It definitely helps, but I wish I knew the magic way to make the cards look as good as they do in person!
Such a sweet 'love' card, Marisa. The pink and the hearts say it all.
ReplyDeleteUse my light tent for the white cards with a darker bg and lots of light on the card.
Love all the hearts- this is really sweet! Thanks so much for playing along with us at CAS(E) This Sketch this week!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done Marisa! This is such a gorgeous CAS card. I think your photo looks great!
