A great colour combo for us to work with this week, and I was thrilled these wonderful Stella and Rose MME papers were the perfect match.
I used an MFT sketch and Verve's Birthday To You Plain Jane and added the secondary "enjoy" sentiment from Small Celebrations. A bit of distressing around the edges to give it a bit of oomph and finished things off with some twine and a button.
The rest of the JUGS team along with our July Guest Designer, Rebekka Reed, have some wonderful samples to get your inspiration going, so head on over to the Just Us Girls blog and check out what they've created. Simply create a card using the sketch and link it up to the JUGS blog for a chance to be chosen as the Chic of the Week. Remember, if you are chosen as Chic of the Week, you could be invited to be a Guest Designer.
We had a smoking hot week here on the West Coast and many of us were melting! We don't have AC here for in reality, we only need it about one to two weeks a year. Well, this was one of the week LOL! Hot and humid is an understatement. Daily highs around 32C (96F) and no wind for three of those days made for some sticky days. But, it sure is nice being able to go outside at 9 p.m. at night in your shorts and a t-shirt and not worry about it getting cold.

ReplyDeleteI love the sweet little flowers on your background paper. Adorable...and I think we traded weather. We've been very cool this week.
ReplyDeleteLove this! All your fun details, dots, flowers, distressing, nice black sentiment, colors, made for an awesome card!
ReplyDeleteHow lucky for you to find those gorgeous papers in just the right colors! Great card!
ReplyDeleteThose paper are perfect! :) Adorable design Marisa! We had that heat the last few weeks too, and like you - no AC. But given the realities of winter here...I am trying to soak it all in and enjoy every little bit of it this summer :)
ReplyDeleteLove the little enjoy tag :) We were at 40 degrees this week, but yes, everyone up here has a pool or AC or both. We are finally getting cooler temps (32) and a bit of rain last night to hopefully help the forest fires :)
ReplyDeleteReally love your paper selections Marisa...fits the colors perfectly! Can't imagine having those temps without air...hope it cools down for you soon!
ReplyDeleteTerrific card! i love the distressing around the edges! Hope the color challenge cooled you off a bit!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteWhat! No AC! Wow! We wouldn't make it 5 minutes here without it. You are so lucky!
ReplyDeleteYour card is just totally cute and I love the little enjoy banner. I have been making a bunch of BD cards for work and this would be perfect. Fun! Hugz!
This is fantastic! Love the distressed edges. The papers work perfectly, too.
ReplyDeleteYes, 96 degrees is hot! It is the norm here so we must have air conditioners for the reasons you described. I feel your pain!
Super card and loving the colours...I have joined as a new follower.xxx
ReplyDeleteThe Journey is the Start
Beautiful composition! I love the dots and flowers background with the distressed edges. Also, love the way you did the sentiment on the circle and tag.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, Marisa, absolutely gorgeous! Yes, the hot weather we're not accustomed to is quite the experience! On our way to Bend, we spent the first night in Kennewick, where, at 8:30pm, the temp was 102! It's been in the low 90s here in Bend and, oddly enough, I'm kind of enjoying the heat more than I typically do. Perhaps it's just because we're in Bend *grin* Heading back to admire your card a while longer...
