I love Monday because that means it is time for another Mojo Monday sketch! Even better, there is lots of new Verve Stamps to play with after the five set release last week -whoo hoo!!
I used Floral Notes for my card and the matching die for the large poppies. Coloured them with Twinkling H2Os, popped them up, added the sentiment and a few sequins for good measure. The papers are from We R Memory Keepers Chalkboard series.
All the challenge details are over on the Mojo Monday blog and you can also view all the wonderful Mojo Makers samples. Should you wish more details on the Mojo Maker's cards, you can also visit their individual blogs noted below.
We had a very rough weekend as a family as we had to put down our 22 year old cat, Scruffy. My daughter started praying for a cat when she was four years old, and three years later God brought him to us via new neighbours that moved in next door from California. He decided our house was much quieter than theirs (they had 3 kids under five), moved in and adopted us as his new family. We had the joy of having to catch three live birds he brought into the house, ongoing bed wars for bed space, loads of entertainment, comfort, love, constant purrs, lots of snuggles, gratitude and appreciation for the past ten years. He was our shy, handsome kitty with a huge heart.
I cried like a baby when we took him to the vet to put him down, and needless to say, we all have a very big hole in our hearts right now. It's amazing how a ten pound, furry critter can take up so much room in your heart. We love you Scruffy, and miss you dearly...
What's In It?
Stamps: Floral Notes (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Chalkboard (We R Memory Keepers), Certainly Celery (Stampin' Up)
Ink: Black (Momento)
Accessories: Floral Notes Die Set (A Cut Above by Verve), Scalloped Circle and Circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Twinkling H2Os, Sequins, Glue Dot, Dimensionals
Lovely! The floral spray really sets off the design.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry that you had to say goodbye to your beloved Scruffy. We've gone through it several times, but not after 22 years! You surely are blessed with many memories of a loyal pet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card Marisa - loving the colour scheme.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about your gorgeous Scruffy. I know exactly how you feel as we had to have our beautiful black cat Meg put to sleep at nearly 15 years old. It may sound silly but we thought our home seemed quiet without her - even though she slept most of the time! This was nearly 7 years ago, and even though we have now got 2 beautiful cats who we love dearly, we will always remember our Meg with so much love and affection. It sounds like Scruffy had a wonderful life with you. Hugs to you and your family x
Again, so sorry for your loss~ its so hard!

First, I am so sorry about your fur baby. He looks so much like my Littlebit, the face especially. It is so very hard to loose them.
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous, you really did the sketch up proud. The colors are fab, the purple shows so beautifully on that green and the soft pink stripe works great.

Such a lovely card, Marisa! I again always love seeing your card creations. I think our styles are similar. I am so sorry to hear about Scruffy! My girls and I said goodbye several years ago to Sebastian. I cried like a baby as my vet put him to sleep in my arms. We still talk lovingly about how Sebastian brought us so much joy! May the Lord bring you comfort.
ReplyDeleteMany blessings,
Donna

ReplyDeleteThose furry critters hold a special place in our hearts forever......xoxox
ReplyDeleteWiping away tears in reading of your loss, Marisa. Our pets have special places in our lives, and even more in our hearts. I had two schnauzers for many years and although they've been gone for a while, not a day passes that I don't miss them deeply. My niece loves to hear stories about Casey and Squirt (who she never did meet), so telling her about their shenanigans keeps their memories strong. As hard as this is, know that Scruffy loves you for the outstanding life you gave him...and he'll be waiting at Rainbow Bridge. Yeeshhh..now I'm almost sobbing! Sorry! Anyway, your card is fabulous, especially the Twinkling H2O coloured flowers. A reminder that I have some of those paints, too...
