Yeah for Tall and Skinny sketch week over on the Mojo Monday blog. I just love making this size card as elements on your card can "hang" over the edges and still fit in an A2 sized envelope :)
I needed a thank you card for one of the teachers who was on my daughter's trip to Europe as she was her absentee mom, especially when she was sick while on the trip. I had an extra "U" from the I Heart You die set cut out and on my desk so it was the springboard for the card. I added another favorite but not used recently Jotted Heart for my focal cluster and added a flower and a few buttons for some extra colour.
All the challenge details are over on the Mojo Monday blog and you can also view all the wonderful Mojo Makers samples. Should you wish more details on the Mojo Maker's cards, you can also visit their individual blogs noted below.
My daughter is now home from her two week trip to Europe and we are all very glad to have her back safe and sound. Nothing makes this mama's heart happier than having her whole family all under one roof again. Been great fun going through all her pictures and hearing about all her adventures. After she modelled the stunning dress she bought in Paris for her grad dress, I told hubby to start digging the moat and loading the shotgun!
Best part is being able to hug her again, and I must say I am sleeping much more soundly too as she had some rough bits along the way which meant early morning and late night phone calls to Europe and a few restless nights for me! Once the dust settles, I am sure she will be very glad she went, despite the trials along the way.
Thanks for popping in and have a fabulous day!

ReplyDeleteSuper cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning card Marisa - I love it!
ReplyDeleteLove that yellow heart and the fabulous little embellies! Beautiful card, Marisa!
ReplyDeleteSuper sweet thank you card! What a fabulous growing experience for your daughter! I know the feeling when they're sooo far away, but glad she got back home safely.
ReplyDeleteYour MM tall and skinny card is beautiful, Marisa! Your daughter's "adopted mom" will love it! I am glad your girl is home safe and under your wing and I'm sorry she had some rough patches to mar her trip. The dress alone sounds like it made up for that, lol, and I loved your comment about the moat and shotgun! You were only half-kidding!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful thank you card! Glad your daughter is home with you, safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteI so love this and how nice for a "second" mom! I love the trio of "thanks" with the U and the heart. The color combo and patterned paper is perfect.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your daughter is back safe and sound. I have to admit that I am forever grateful that I have sons - thank goodness I don't have to worry about Parisian dresses!! I'm in the midst of packing for my oldest to move away. Although I'm thrilled to have some of my house back from the debris of a teen boy - I'm already worried about what happens if he's sick or hurt when he's all alone!
Hello Marisa: First of all, I'm so happy to hear your daughter came back home from her trip to Europe happy and safe, it's so hard to deal with their absence but the experience of this trip will last a life time.
ReplyDeleteSecond, I want to tell you that your card is gorgeous, I love that sweet flower and the lovely heart. What a fabulous interpretation of the sketch.
Thank you for sharing at Mojo Monday.

Marisa, my own traveling sees me falling behind in commenting, but catching up right now! My mom's 'supervising' some toilet installations (thankfully, the young installer is as chatty as she is!), so I'm sneaking away to catch up on some blogs, with yours being #1. So glad your daughter is home, safe and sound, having enjoyed her trip (for the most part) and enriched with the experience. The dress sounds gorgeous; hopefully you'll share photos. And your card is as gorgeous as it is thoughtful! Your daughter's teacher will love this, as do I! That yellow heart...oh my!
