Mojo Monday #432

Mojo 432 photo Mojo432pic.jpg

Julee has a fabulous square sketch for us to work with today.  I love making square cards and realized I haven't made one in ages so this was great fun to create!

I kept things monochromatic as I was using scraps up from MME's Lost and Found Heirloom pack - love this paper pad!  So much so that I bought two so I would have it longer LOL!  Embossed the block hearts in the background and used the Luke 1:45 Plain Jane for my sentiment.  Love this verse!  Added a butterfly sitting on the leaves cut with the leaf die from the Butterfly Dreams die set.  A perfect card to add to my stash for my daughter :)

All the challenge details are over on the Mojo Monday blog and you can also view all the wonderful Mojo Makers samples.  Should you wish more details on the Mojo Maker's cards, you can also visit their individual blogs noted below.

Hard to believe I am another year older.  Where does the time go?!  No big milestone to celebrate, just a few more grey hairs LOL.  Going to be a busy one with my daughter graduating this year as well as applying to colleges and universities as well as scholarships and then transitioning to the next phase of her life.  Going to need to ensure I have times to just "be" versus just "do" all the time.  Look out 2016 here I come :)

Viva La Verve Sketches Are Back

VLVJan16Week2 photo VLVJan16wk2pic.jpg

Welcome back to Viva La Verve sketches!  After a December hiatus, we are back in action with a few tweaks for 2016.

This week I am recapping Charmaine's sketch.  I used some scraps from MME's Love Me collection (always a bonus to use scraps!) and as per Charmaine's card, I accented with hearts using the Heart Quartet die.  The sentiment is from Stronger Love.

This year, we are switching things up a bit...there will be only two sketches per month, and each month there will be a draw for two winners to receive a $40 gift certificate to the Verve Store - that doubles your chances of winning! The new schedule will be as follows:

1st Friday: Sketch 1
2nd Friday: Recap of Sketch 1
3rd Friday: Sketch 2 posted
4th Friday: Recap of Sketch 2
5th Friday: Winners posted

If a month only has four Fridays, winners will be posted on the 1st Friday of the following month. Other than that all the same RULES apply.  Feel free to link up as often as you like. Verve Stamps are not required, but we do LOVE to see them! :)

If you want to see who I showcased in my recap post, or if you simply want to enjoy some card candy or added inspiration, head on over to the Viva La Verve blog - the gallery is full of it!

Have a fabulous day!

Mojo Monday #431

Mojo 431 photo Mojo431a.jpg

Found this fun Bo Bunny Love Letters note paper at my LSS and since my daughter plays the piano, I thought it would make a fun card for her.  It ended up being a bit on the masculine side so this may end up for hubby.  Thankfully he is manly enough to handle the twine bow.

Adore the font of the "love" sentiment.  So elegant and classy.  You can find it in the Love Notes set.  Added hearts from the Heart Quartet die set and a set of notes by MFT.

All the challenge details are over on the Mojo Monday blog and you can also view all the wonderful Mojo Makers samples.  Should you wish more details on the Mojo Maker's cards, you can also visit their individual blogs noted below.

Wishing you all a fabulous day and hope you have time to play along!

The kitty hat caught my attention immediately as I am a cat lover (dog lovers, don't hold it against me...I do like dogs but cats a bit more wink, wink).  That lead me to dig through my Penny Black stamps which I haven't used in ages.  I simply adore this big, fluffy kitty, all the more because he reminds me of our new cat Paddington, who very much looks like this stamp as he is also big, fluffy and has the same cute face :)  I coloured him with Twinkling H2Os (the non-colourer's emergency go to LOL), as per the image on the stamp (lest you think I am a professional colourer wink, wink), added the sentiment and a button for some interest.

Mojo Monday #430

Mojo 430 photo Mojo430pic.jpg

It is Mojo Monday time today, and Julee has provided this great sketch for us to work with this week.

I wanted to created a Valentine's Day card for my stash -- or more truthfully, just wanted to play with hearts as I just love them!  Pulled out some Devoted Carta Bella papers and accented them with blue and a few pops of red.

Love this sentiment from Stronger Love!  It is so, so true!  Certain people can bring out the best in us and sometimes show us a side of ourselves we never knew we had.  Added a few hearts from Heart Quartet and couldn't resist leaving me crimper out of the mix.

All the challenge details are over on the Mojo Monday blog and you can also view all the wonderful Mojo Makers samples.  Should you wish more details on the Mojo Maker's cards, you can also visit their individual blogs noted below.

I finally got some much needed down time this weekend and boy did it feel good!!  December was abnormally busy for us due to some unforeseen circumstances popping up, and a month of way too much socializing and activity, paired with a busy time at work, just about sent this introvert off the deep end.  Thankfully, I was able to recharge this weekend.  I stayed home, had a jammie day, spent time in my craft room, read, and didn't interact with anyone other than family - and then only when it was necessary LOL!!  Just what I needed as I am feeling much more like myself.  The joys of being an introvert and needing down time to stay sane.

Enjoy the sketch and have a fabulous day!

Mojo Monday #429

Mojo 429 photo Mojo429pic.jpg

Happy New Year everyone and welcome to the first Mojo Monday sketch of 2016!

Trusting you all had a wonderful Christmas and are ready to enjoy all the new year has to bring.  We some wonderful family time and our daughter gave us an amazing photo book for Christmas.  Flipping through the pages brought back so many wonderful memories.  Hard to believe so much time has passed!

Not only is this the first Mojo Monday sketch of 2016, but it is also the first Monday of the month which means it is contest week!!  A fabulous way to start out 2016 :)

I pulled out a piece of this wonderful Hugs and Kisses paper by American Crafts.  It is bold and makes such a statement.  Figured it was a great jump into 2016.  The sentiment is one of my all time favorites from Verve and is from the Kind Words set.  Added five extra hearts, my accessory of choice at this time of year - well, any time of year really {grin} - an da touch of bling and pearls to gussy it up a bit.

All the challenge details are over on the Mojo Monday blog and you can also view all the wonderful Mojo Makers samples.  Should you wish more details on the Mojo Maker's cards, you can also visit their individual blogs noted below.

Look forward to seeing your creations in the gallery, and since I love new beginnings, I also look forward to writing my 366 day book on 2016.  Best wishes for a fabulous year everyone!!

Love this colour combination, and even though Christmas is over, I couldn't resist making one more Christmas card (first of 2016)!   Got some shimmer paper from my local Dollar Store so had to use it for my snowflake, and added a blinged out button I had in my stash to the middle.  Some background snowflakes and swiss dots to carry over the snow theme and I was good to go.  Have a hankering to watch Frozen now LOL!
