First of all, Happy 4th of July to all my American friends and to all who protect our freedom in Canada and the USA, thank you!!
This is my second attempt at this colour combination! Didn't like my first card at all so back to the drawing board I went. Had to substitute with So Saffron and Rose Red so the colours are a bit brighter than than they would have been otherwise, but I think it worked.
When I saw this weeks' SCS sketch, I was thrilled because of the square panels. SU's Season of Friendship set immediately came to mind as my solution for this colour combination. Brown for the tree trunk and coloured flowers - perfect !
This tree is so much fun to use, though cutting out the flowers is a bit of a pain in the butt, but well worth it as it gives you fabulous dimension. I added pearls to the centers of each flower, popped them up and finished things off with a turquoise bow by the sentiment panel. Definitely like this card a lot more than my first one which shall remain unposted LOL!!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE this set, too, Marisa but it is one I do not own... maybe one day. :) I love the little pearl centres and the turquoise ribbon gives it just a bit of "pop." Beautiful.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely sensational Marisa, I love the set you have chosen to use- I can't wait to get my hands on it!! You have so much more patience than me, cutting out all those flowers by hand was well worth it when you look at the overall effect! i think you should give us a wee look at your 1st creation, don't keep it hidden away-lol!!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my word - your flowers rock...such a perfect dimensional creation!
ReplyDeleteThose little flowers are just precious! This is one of my favorite stamp sets!
ReplyDeleteSweet! Love those pearl accents. I don't have any that small. I guess I better find me some! I know what it takes to cut out all those little flowers, I've done it before, it's a lot of work! Well done!
ReplyDeleteBTW-I'm watching the Bachlorette while blurfing and Ali just said "Roberto might be the one for me." SQUEAL!!!
