Inkspirations Goes Off The Wall
I loved the wonderful pictures in the inspiration piece and corresponding colours for this week's Off The Wall Colour Challenge so I just had to play along. I combined it with this week's Inkspirations sketch, even though I missed the submission link - darn it all anyway!
The earthy colours were a great excuse to use my PTI Turning A New Leaf set (love this set!). Leaf images just make me happy :)
The wonderful striped ribbon which I found at my trustworthy ribbon supplier, the Michael's ribbon bin LOL started things off. I matted it with the scalloped, white border for a little punch, embossed the white background panel with Diamonds in the Rough, and added some green butterflies on the focal image. Can't say I have ever seen a green butterfly, but they apparently exist in my craft room LOL!
Scruffy is back to his normal self and still getting a bit more attention than normal so I have to bring him back to reality with his medications LOL! He had me laughing the other day as one of the medications must taste awful. He scrunched his face up like the guy on the Buckley's add and then he runs to the tap for a drink of water. Thankfully he only has a few days left of that one.
Thanks for coming by to say hi and hope you're having or have had a great day, depending on when you read this post :)
What's In It?
Stamps: (PTI) Turning A New Leaf
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi
Ink: Certainly Celery, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Diamonds in the Rough Embossing Folder, Circle and Scalloped Circle Nesties, Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch, SU Scalloped Border Punch, Half Pearls
Once again, your card has me bowled over! Really like the way you used the border punch, then with the ribbon on top, clever.
ReplyDeleteHow perfect is that ribbon? Beautiful use of our colors and who says butterflies can't be green? Thanks for joining in the fun and playing along with us at OTWC and Good luck! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card you made! Those little butterflies are the cutest! :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, Michaels must send all of the good ribbon your way, because I never find fun stuff like this in our ribbon bin! LOL What a perfect use for it, especially with the punched borders. I love your green butterflies, too--it reminds me that I need to think outside the color box more often!
ReplyDeleteFantastic ribbon on this card Marisa! These are yummy looking colors!
ReplyDeleteWonderful fall card, the earthy colors are awesome and I like that ribbon. Okay... I am a bit behind and lost, who is scruffy? I will have to read on... hee hee
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic layout, Marisa! I see that you got to use your favorite--greens!! This card is so polished and serene. Beautiful work :) Glad Scruffy is back to normal!
ReplyDeleteso pretty Marisa!!!
ReplyDeletelove all the texture and bling on this one :) Those little butterflies are adorable!! We had a great, albeit cold, time at the patch...no rain!! It was so beautiful...and we saw lots of dead salmon by the river that never made it up to the Adam's river. We really do live in God's country :D
ReplyDeleteSuper card, Marisa! And FYI, everyting exists in MY mind...even green butterflies...lol.
ReplyDeleteAwesome greens, you know I love 'em, and wonderful ribbon! I love making a cheap-o score at Michael's, almost makes up for all the other $$$$ I spend there. Well, not exactly, but DH may be reading over my shoulder.
The ribbon works perfectly with these colors and your stamped leaves are a great match! I just love anything with these earthy colors!
ReplyDeleteI really like how you stamped the leaf images. Great use of the wide, striped ribbon. I have some like that (in different colors) that I'm sure I will use when I buy it but then it never seems to work on any project I try.
ReplyDeleteI have three cats currently on some medication. One has some liquid meds that she hates - not only for having to take them but she always makes a face and chokes on them after I give them. I figured they must taste really bad so one day I tried a drop on my finger. Eewh Yuck! They really are nasty and I just had a drop and not a dropperful. So now when I give them to her I follow up with a treat to help kill the taste.
You had me laughing with the Scruffy story! Poor little guy. Bet you wish you had a camera at that moment; that would've made a great picture!
ReplyDeleteAnd too bad you missed the deadline over at OTWC. This is pretty.....love your Michael's ribbon very much!
Wow! I do love this and the awesome colors. What a gift the Michael's bin is when we are in need of pretty ribbon. Funny Scruffy story.
ReplyDeletewhat great eye candy Marisa! love the greens with the white, another top job! :)
ReplyDeleteYour greens = gorgeous! Lovely colors and you've used the sketch perfectly =)
ReplyDeleteSo glad your kitty is feeling better.. I have to hide my dogs meds to get her to take them. Your card is beautiful. I love your Mikes ribbon. The circle looks great like that.
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL!!!! The colours are gorgeous and so fresh and pretty!!! One would think that you loved green!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love ALL of you card ideas and colors. Keep up the great work. Thanks
