Sketch 1 - Marisa 0

This sketch was one that made me go "hmmmm"....  Had me stumped for some time.  My first two attempts did not work so I decided to go CAS and it came together rather quickly after that.

I have seen these fun flowers on SCS so I decided to use the squares as petals for a flower.  I crimped them for a little extra something, added a button in the middle, a butterfly, some Swiss dots in the background and a punched border along the bottom to try to dress things up a bit.

I must admit I am not sold on the card, but with a long to do list to get done before the kids and I disappear for the week to go camping with some friends, I called it quits.  Let's just say:  Sketch 1 - Marisa 0.

I'll be back on Friday with my Inkspirations post and hopefully home in time from camping to head over to the Verve Forum on SCS for their release party.

Have a fabulous week, everyone :)

Haha...you're too funny! I felt the same way with this sketch, I had a hard time with it and finally after two days of hemming and hawing, got something together. I think your idea turned out fabulously, what a clever idea to make those squares a flower! Love the vibrant colors, too, against the black and white background. I say sketch 0, Marisa 1 :)

You are too funny, Marisa! I love the bold pop of green and pink on this one. I hadn't seen a flower like this, but I will definitely have to give it a try. Have a great time camping!

oh, good for you!! I am totally sitting this sketch out. I didn't use it on Friday's Blog Hop like most of the Divas did! lol Love the petal idea...and that burst of lime green! oh my! Well, today feels more like the first day of vacation as it's Monday...sitting with a coffee and the iPad and catching up on emails and comments...love that I don't have to rush out like usual :) We are getting a storage unit today and starting to clear out the basement (of a teacher!) so you can imagine! lOL Have fun camping :) Hopefully you'll have great weather :) hugs :)

Oh, your title for this post is absolutely hilarious, Marisa!! Although, I don't agree with the score. I think this is a really creative take on the sketch--and she SCORES!! Great bright colors, too. Have fun camping!! Can't wait to hear your stories. :)

Love it!! Those bold colors are fantastic against the white!! Your blog post title cracked me up! I have really tried lately to scrap cards that just aren't going together smoothly - but it is sooo hard!

That might just be the single most hilarious post title ever =) I think your flower turned out lovely! The sketch scares the crap out of me, but I am determined to give it a go anyways. Love the pearl use!

I hear you on the challenges of this sketch! I started one card and ended up with something completely different. Those squares within the circle were totally throwing me off. But I LOVE how you interpreted them! They're a flower! With a button, to boot!

I'm back home after a truly "dream" trip to Italy with my mom. It was incredible! I'm having a blast going through the pictures now and putting them together into a digital scrapbook. Nothing fancy. This is definitely going to be a plain and simple book. There are over 200 pictures!!! Can you imagine dolling those all up?! Sheesh!

You ROCKED this sketch Marisa!! I LOVE the crimped leaves as your panels!! So clever, creative, and fun!! This card just made me smile!!

And camping...I'm jealous. We usually go every summer, but we have to bring our daughter out of state to college this year, so we're using that as our vacation. I hope you have a wonderfully relaxing time!!
