This sketch had me swallowing hard when I first saw it due to all the panels on it. I lean more toward the CAS side of things so this one was a stretch, but good for exercising the old creative genes :)
I decided to go a-la Tosh (a far cry from her work, but she was my inspiration) and dress this puppy up. The starting point was my life verse of Phil 1:6 which Julee so blessed me with by putting it into stamp form.
Three quarters of the card came together quite quickly, but the flower cluster area and what to put on the left hand corner of the sentiment panel brought production speed to a near stop - ugh! I tried a what seemed like a bazillion things, from colours, to ribbon, to lace and thankfully, I tripped across this perfectly coloured seam binding or I think I would have gone insane LOL! Did some major surgery on the flower (cut it down and opened it up quite a bit) and thankfully it still held together - phew.
That's it for today. Enjoy your day and thanks for sharing a bit of yours with me :)

ReplyDeletesuch a beautiful card :) Don't you love seam binding? It ties like buttah! Reports are humming along...they're not hard, just take a little extra time over and above our work day. Good excuse not to do the dishes after dinner ;)

Girl, you dressed this card up beautifully!! I adore the color combo and your layering is fabulous!! I swear, the more afraid of a sketch you are, the more gorgeous is turns out. I'm thinking I'll have to come up with a real "doozy" the next time, just to "really" challenge you!! bwahahahaha Lots of layers, AND tilted panels....hmmmmm.....Love the seam binding and gorgeous flower too!! Ya worked this sketch beautifully my friend!!! :)
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful. Great take on the sketch. Love all the elements.

ReplyDeleteThe flower cluster is amazing...and your seam binding use is perfect. I always love when you use that edge with the pearls...and that nestie is fabulous ;)
ReplyDeleteInspiring and gorgeous creation! I love the flower and ribbon - scrumptious!!!!!! Hugz!
ReplyDeleteI laughed at your commentary on the production speed. It is amazing how some of the little things on the sketch can trip us up. I had a time with the little piece that comes out from the circle element. That post goes live tomorrow. You should see what I did with it. Your colors are gorgeous and I love the cluster elements with the seam binding, flower, and dainty flourish. Beautiful! Wonderful scripture card!
ReplyDeleteTosh is certainly an artist to emulate, for sure! I don't think I've ever seen you use crinkled seam binding...it looks fantastic! The neutral tones really blend together nicely!
