Psalm 37:4

2012 Faves

This week's Card Patterns sketch drew me in like a magnet because of the large circle.  I combined it with this week's Ribbon Reel inspiration challenge and getting the red in there was definitely a challenge!

After a wide variety of attempts, I finally settled on adding this prima flower since it was a darker pink and toned down the the red button on the bow.  I also added (aka:tried) a bit of distressing around the edges to tone down and soften the cream so the the red didn't stand out so much.  Needless to say, my sponging has much to be desired, but it did the trick so mission accomplished.

I'm also entering this in to this week's Word Art Wednesday challenge to make a card with an inspirational or encouraging sentiment.  This verse is such a great verse and encourages me often so I figured it qualified :)

What's In It?
Stamps: Psalm 37:4 Plain Jane (Verve)

Accessories:  Lacy Circle and Circle Nesties, Elegant Leaf Die (Verve), Butterfly Punch (Martha Stewart), Prima Flower, 5/8" Pink Satin Ribbon, Button, Twine, Half Pearls, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

  19. Oh, is that some smudging and distressing I see? Without a throwdown involved? What a lovely effect, the pink, white and brown accents really add such delight to this card. The sentiment is perfect, too!
