JUGS #148
Welcome to sketch week over on the Just Us Girls (JUGS) blog. Today's sketch is brought to us by Elise. I took the sketch quite literally as there is no need to ask me if I want to use flowers on a card LOL!
I dug into my Micheal's paper pack, found this lovely paper and went to work. Had great fun with some Verve goodies and finished it off with a red butterfly.
The rest of the JUGS Team and our August Guest Designer Jen have created wonderful cards for your inspiration, so head on over to the JUGS blog and check them out.
It's a wonderful sketch and I'd love to see your take on it. Simply create a new card using the sketch and link it up to the JUGS challenge post here. Who knows! You could be selected as Chick of the week :)
Swimming lessons are finally over and I have to admit I will miss the pool. It has become a routine which not only filled a month of our summer vacation but also got me well on my way to being back in shape :) My son passed his level and my daughter would have if she had not been sick today :( She just needed to show the instructor she would fix one thing on her back stroke and do it consistently for four laps and she would have passed. But alas, she was feeling quite nauseous this morning, had a bit of a fever, and did not sleep well last night so she bowed out of going to lessons today. Good news is she will pass with flying colours next summer :)
Thanks for dropping by and have a fabulous weekend!

ReplyDelete{You ARE so adorable!} I LOVE this, and man, am I glad I didn't have to convince you to use flowers! LOL! I am LOVIN' the color combo you've shared in this STUNNING piece, but the texture, buttons and perfectly placed BLING have my tail-a-wagging, too! GREAT job, sweet one! Thanks for makin' it ALL look so FABULOUS!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Marissa. I have this Michael's paper pad. I loved it when I saw it but have used very little of it to-date. Your card has reminded me to pull it out and use it.
ReplyDeleteHope your daughter is feeling better today :( No fun being sick.
ReplyDeleteWonderful card too! Love that layout! Will see if I can squeeze some stamping time in today....if it's nice, I'll be out driving my car....lol
Pretty card. Love the colors you used.
ReplyDeletesuch a lovely elegant card...I do love that stamp set, so versatile! Sounds like you need a lap pool in the back yard! Or are at least ready for Lake Okanagan!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous take on this sketch Marisa. I love the Verve flowers and the scalloped layer.
ReplyDeleteFabulous card for the sketch! Love those flowers
ReplyDeleteHow elegant Marisa! LOVE that paper and you've just cost me a fortune 'coz I had to go and buy that flower stamp set! You made it irresistible with this gorgeous card! xxx
ReplyDeletePerfect take on that sketch, Marisa! Love the flowers and the dp is gorgeous. So sorry DD had a rough day--hope she bounces back quickly! ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteOoh, great color combination...with such pretty papers! Love your homemade Verve-y flowers, too!
ReplyDeleteWow - your colors are sooo fresh and beautiful. Lovely sketch and your details are perfect as usual. Love those flowers and the paper! Hugz!
ReplyDeleteLove these muted colors and buttoned topped flowers! Lovely card, Marisa!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Love those coral flowers and pretty designer papers.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your daughter getting sick. Hope she is doing much better.
What a gorgeous color combination you've used...and the paper in the background works perfectly. I always try to match perfectly, then get frustrated and chuck it all away. LOL I really should take some inspiration from this beauty and add some color to a softer background. Gorgeous stamping and buttons/bling use :) You always use those leaves just perfectly!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a pretty card. I love all the layers and the pop of red in that butterfly! Great job with the sketch! Also, congrats on the Mojo gig! You are a valuable asset to their (and our) team!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Great design and colors.
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhh, pretty papers!
ReplyDeleteToo bad your daughter has to wait until next summer! That's such a shame. :( And I'm sorry she has been feeling poorly, too.
ReplyDeleteYour card is so pretty, and a great way to showcase the sketch.
