Colour Q'ing My Mojo

This week's Mojo Monday sketch had me quite intimidated, but I decided I'd give it a try so I could stretch the old creativity a bit.

I paired it with this week's Colour Q challenge as the colours were pefect for......you got it.....another Valentine's Day card :)  Aren't you going to be happy once Valentine's has come and gone LOL!

As predicted, the sketch gave me grief.  The ruffled ribbon doesn't dip as low as it should on the right hand side and feels a bit too wide for the size of the hearts, but didn't have a dark brown ribbon in a different width so had to go with it.  The sentiment panel and how to embellish it took me forever!  Tried a banner, a double ended banner, faux stitching on the left side, adding buttons, adding twine, adding raffia - you name it!  My last concept is the one you see here, and it stayed because it was my last kick at the can and I left it and ran LOL!  Not my favorite card, but the creative gene was challenged and that is a good thing.

Just to let you know, things will get a little quieter here over the next few weeks as I have to do some work for hubby's office.  I'll be posting on Wednesdays and Fridays for sure, and if all goes well, at least one other time during the week.

Have a fabulous day and thanks for sharing a part of yours with me :)

Oh, my...do my eyes deceive me or is that an angled ribbon on your card? How's your neck? Does it have a kink in it from turning your head place the ribbon? HAHA...ok, I'll let it go....especially since this card is FAB! I'm diggin' those scalloped hearts and that ribbon is seriously....GORGEOUS! Now I know that you're faking disliking angles because you are so marvelous at them! I may need to throw down another challenge...

Sorry to hear you had so much frustration with this one, but I think it turned out wonderfully! I love the ruffled ribbon and bit of raffia. I'm not brave enough to tackle a circle card myself, so kudos to you!

I am so loving all the elements on this one :) I feel your frustration when there are so many tiny bits to choose from!! I can see you switching things around as I do that many times...sometimes good, sometimes bad...but really, this turned out for you!! All sweet little details :) Hang in!! and hugs :)

beautiful card!! But then again all your cards are beautiful. I have a question. I love the circle cards, but how do you do them? Are the one sided or are the cards? Can you please email me and let me know? My email is stillacanuck4@hotmail.com. I would tell you to leave a message on my blog, but I'm a blog failure...lol. Thanks for the help!!

You may not think this is your favorite card, Marisa, but I think it is FABULOUS! You got just enough of a kink in that lovely ruffled ribbon to make it work perfectly with the Mojo sketch. And the round card shape and layered sweethearts are terrific!! This is such a fun card. :)

Last kick at the can? O.K., I've never heard that one but it was funny. I think your card is cute as can be and I love the raffia. Another sweet Valentine down.

certainly can't see any frustration in this one, the ribbon looks fabulous!! I love the earthy touch in the raffia!!
Cairns came out of Yasi better than predicted, it wasn't directly hit, but needless to say it was a very scary night for all, apparently the noise was deafening and being in the pitch black of the night just added to the scariness. I am sure Keesh is fine, but without power.
