Mojo Monday #486

 photo Mojo486pic.jpg

Almost the end of February - meep!!  The year has started with a bang and is moving forward lickity split already!

I pulled out some scraps of paper in delicious fall colours to create this card as they always make me all warm and fuzzy inside {grin}.  Mixed and matched them to work with the sketch and added a few hearts cut from a Starbucks sleeve with the Heart Quartet die set for a bit of added dimension.  The sentiment is from Kindness Matters, and I just realized that it isn't placed squarely on the card and is at a bit of an angle - ugh!!  Always happens when I am in a rush...  My apologies!!

Was in California this weekend as my boss took myself and my job share partner down to LA for a chiropractic convention and it was simply amazing!!  So many great speakers and passionate chiros to talk to - loved it!!   I am blessed beyond measure to have such an amazing job and boss!!

Have a fabulous week and look forward to seeing your creations in the gallery.

Mojo Monday #485

 photo Mojo485pic2.jpg

After all the snow we got this month, it was time to turn my thoughts towards Spring!!

More of my MME hoarded paper came out to play, along with the Wishing You sentiment set and a few hearts from the Heart Quartet die set for good measure as I just couldn't let them go just yet {grin}.  Added an accent line with the Scalloped Trim Trio heart border die.  A few half pearls for a little something something and a few sequins to fill in the sentiment panel finished things off.

All the challenge details are over on the Mojo Monday blog and you can also view all the wonderful Mojo Makers samples.  Should you wish more details on the Mojo Maker's cards, you can also visit their individual blogs noted below.

The snow has finally all melted and the fields have absorbed or drained all the moisture so we are back into full on soccer again.   This year has brought the most cancellations ever - think it was nine weeks in all that had to be cancelled due to frozen, snow covered or rain soaked fields. A lot of players and refs will be sucking wind big time for the next few weeks as their cardio took a big hit with the lack of playing time.

I must admit, I have somewhat enjoyed the driving hiatus as we put a lot of miles every week going to soccer pitches all over the Lower Mainland so our son can ref games.  However, I also deeply cherish our driving time as it is wonderful quality time with my son and an opportunity to be able to connect, communicate and delve into the inner workings of a teenage boys mind (a very interesting  place sometimes lol!).  Soon enough he will be able to drive himself and that time will be lost so I am drinking deep of the car time we have.

Have a fabulous week and look forward to seeing your creations in the gallery.

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Woven

Time for our next Inspiration Challenge of February 2017, and this time round it is Woven.

 photo CC15Feb2017pic.jpg

The only thing that came to mind when I saw the word woven was the wired burlap I had in my stash.  I cut the edges off so I could glue it to my paper and then pulled woodgrain from the wooden trowel to hold the banner up and the rest of the colours I pulled from the photo.

Mojo Monday #484

 photo Mojo484pic.jpg

Last chance to sneak in a heart card {grin} and I took the sketch very literally once again.

Love this fun heart paper by Bella Boulevard, and decided to go with more of a blue than a pink theme.  I rarely use navy so it was fun to play with it :)   Cut out the "XO" from my PTI border die, and used Verve's Heart Quartet Die set for the hearts.   It needed a little something so I added a button.  Will most likely use it for my hubby or my son's Valentine's Day card.

We had quite the week weather-wise!!  Seven inches of snow Friday night which made for some very heavy shoveling on Saturday morning!  Took me a whole hour to shovel our driveway as the snow was not light!!  Then two more inches of snow on Monday (nice and light - yeah!!) followed by a glorious, sunny day on Tuesday, snow and freezing rain on Wednesday and then heavy rain on Thursday and Friday.  Needless to say, Vancouver has had it with snow this year as we are not set up for the stuff!   The freezing rain added a whole other dimension and some very hazardous conditions!  Our city's schools were closed for three days this wee - the first time in 20 years!   And our cat was far from impressed LOL!

Further inland they had almost three feet of snow and people were stuck in their homes as we do not have the snow plowing equipment needed to deal with the stuff, never mind three feet of it!  You couldn't find salt anywhere.  It has been the coldest and snowiest winter I remember.  We have had large snowfalls before, but the snow is usually done within a few days as it warms up and rains. Not this time!  We had snow and then cold temps to keep it around for some time.

I personally love the brightness the snow brings and seeing blue skies, sunshine and white everywhere just makes me happy as it sure beats grey skies and rain all the time.  However,  navigating the roads is not always a pleasant experience!  Some good memories to talk about for years to come!

Mojo Monday #483

 photo Mojo483pic.jpg

Was in the mood for some fall colours this week so created a tea lovers card with this week's sketch.   Tea lovers get the short end of the stick quite often as so many focus on coffee, but they are just as passionate about their beverage, trust me LOL!

Pulled out one of my favorite MME papers - Stella and Rose, added a sentiment from One Cup, some sequins to add a little something, something, and a bit of black twine to finish things off.

We have a ton of snow fall over the weekend!  Seven inches Friday night (with two more on Sunday and more to come today and maybe Tuesday before the rain sets in again!) and let me tell you, seven inches of wet snow is a real workout!  Took me an hour to shovel our driveway!  I did have a chuckle though.  With all the cold temps and snow the past month, followed by tons of rain, I have not taken down my Christmas lights!!  I have never had them up this late!  Needless to say, they will be up a bit longer now that we have snow again!  Thinking an all time record is in the making!

The snowfall meant no soccer reffing for my son once again, and based on the amount of snow we got and are still to get, I think he may get next weekend off too.  Bonus:  we got to watch the Superbowl :)

Have a fabulous week and look forward to seeing your creations in the gallery.

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - XOXO

Hard to believe it is February 1st already!  January flew by and we are moving on and celebrating love.

 photo CC1Feb17pic.jpg

I kept things simple and focused on the pink, xoxo and black.  Used last month's Sketch For You To Try, Paper Smooches for the sentiment and PTI's  "XOXO" die.  Added a little glitter for some sparkle.  Check out what the Design Team came up.

  XOXO
