Inkspirations Colour Challenge #63 A La Purple

Today sketch screams designer paper, but alas, I didn't use any...little odd creative gene was kaput today so took the easy way out and embossed the panels in white - yes, I wimped out big time - sorry!

This card was made with a good friend in mind.  She absolutely loves purple.  She actually had her apartment painted in purple (in a periwinkle shade) and managed to make it look fabulous.  Thus the overload on purple on this card - sorry for all you non-purple lovers.  I know she will love it though, and that's what counts :)

I pulled out Buckets of Love from There She Goes.  This is such a fun set!  Lots of different images you can put in the bucket and some great sentiments to go with it.  I masked the flowers and stamped the bucket over top and got to continue practicing my colouring with Twinkling H2Os.  A big purple button from a dollar store find and this card is on its way.  Nothing too fancy, but it does scream spring which I, as I'm sure many of you, are very ready for it!!

Check out what the Design Team has in store for your inspiration.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone  :)  This weekend will be a very special one for our family as my son and daughter are both getting baptized (i.e. dunked) on Sunday.  Their precious faith in Christ being boldly proclaimed to all who are in attendance.  Lots of Kleenex needed for this one as the tears of joy will be streaming down my face, and then I have to pull myself together to go and teach the grade 5/6 Sunday School class - oh my!! Will be an exhausting morning but my heart will be full to overflowing :)

What's In It?
Stamps:   (There She Goes) Buckets of Love
Paper: Lovely Lilac, Lavender Lace
Ink: Black
Accessories: Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Twinkling H2Os, Scalloped Square and Square Nesties, Button, Twine, Glue Dot, Dimensionals

what a sweet little bucket of flowers that would die here today...still very cold!! They promise 14 degrees, but I can't see it!! Sounds like you are getting proper spring weather :) Love the purples and periwinkle happens to be one of my favourite colours :)

I almost missed the mention of your children's decisions to be baptized. What a wonderful testimony when they're ready to proclaim to the world that their faith is real and an important part of their lives. My son was baptized 2 years ago - and it was, and still is, a very important part of who he is. Congratulations! (I'd send tissues if I thought they'd get there in time!)

Such a sweet card, Marisa. I really like that you used embossed panels rather than the DP that you thought was probably being screamed for lol. The embossed panels make for a lovely, calm composition and keep the focus on those pretty flowers.

Wishing all of you all the best for this upcoming special weekend! Better pick out a tote bag and econo box of tissues now so you won't forget ;). Blessings to all of you!!!!

I really like purples and think your card is just a beauty...no patterned paper need. Just clean and pretty. Love the button.

I know you are happy beyond words about the baptism of your children. What a great day!

You most certainly did not wimp out on this one, Marisa! I love the embossed panels, especially since they are white on white, one of my fave looks! The bucket of flowers is darling, too. I'm sure your friend will love it!

Sounds like you have a wonderful weekend ahead! Big hugs to you, I know you must be one proud mama!

Oh, Marisa, I hope the baptisms went well! I feel so out of touch with what's going on with my friends. :(

Your card is just lovely! I spy Swiss Dots embossing...and I like that you used it instead of DP. Gives it a very clean look. Take care, my friend, and thank you for all your encouraging words.

I don't mind the purple at all! It's one of my favorite colors. :) And the embossed white one white background looks fabulous. I always love how that looks, but chicken out when it comes to my own cards, hehe.

Enjoy another week of spring break for me! We only get one, and I still have to work a full week before it finally gets here. Ugh. I'm so ready for the break.
