Mojo 189

I am scrambling to get this Mojo Monday sketch up before the deadline!!  Just 15 minutes to go, so this will be short and sweet for now.

Loved the sketch and was so happy to be able to use these wonderful My Mind's Eye Stella Rose DPs.  Totally yummy colours!

The circle just screamed flowers to me so no need to twist my rubber arm as to whether I would use my new Verve flowers and dies.  Sorry, can't help myself....love my Verve flowers too much and since it is Mother's Day, I'm treating myself to another card using them :)  Keep them coming, Julee LOL!

The cream panels at the top and bottom of the card looked a bit plain so rather than emboss them I decided to distress them instead (just for you, Andrea).  I'm quite happy with the outcome and now must await the verdict from Julee. Don't know how she does it with so many fabulous entries - I'm sure it is not easy!  This card also qualifies for the Paper and Such challenge of making a birthday card.

For those of you who are wondering, we survived our weekend of cooking for the youth.  I think the best part of the weekend was seeing both my kids helping with prep on Friday and then my daughter being an amazing help all Saturday (about 12 hours worth!) as she is now too old for the retreat (my son got to partake in it).   They rolled about 600 meatballs and we baked over 600 cookies on Friday.   Serving together as a family was delightful fun, provided us with wonderful memories and gave me the best Mother's Day gift I could have asked for - family time and seeing my kids growing up and learning what it means to serve others.  Yup, my mommy heart is pretty full to overflowing today :)

What a great family weekend Marisa! Your kids sound fab and you have every reason to feel so proud, but what great parents they have in teaching them such wonderful values.
They also have an incredibly talented Mummy as this is another beautiful creation! xxx

Marisa, your card is so pretty and I do love those flowers, too.
I can tell you fully enjoyed your Mother's Day and I can see why. Nothing like family time. Six hundred meatballs and cookies...now, that a lot!

The color combination on this card is fantastic! Those colors blend so well together! Love the distressing too...hope it didn't make you "distressed" to do it. More like "de-stressed"...haha, that would be nice!
