Triumph Over Fear
Where there is a sketch for a round card, I am there LOL! Thus my playing along with this week's Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge. I love how they are promoting Breast Cancer Awareness month. In addition, if you play along and use pink on your card for each week's challenge this month, you get entered into a draw to win some blog candy. Great sketch, great cause, great time to play along :)
I immediately thought of Verve's Words of Wisdom set when I saw the theme as there are a few sentiments in that set that are perfect for the fight against breast cancer (or any other form of cancer for that matter). I chose this sentiment because it is a statement I'm sure every woman who has received "the news" has had to live through.
A good friend of mine as well as a teacher and parent at our school have worked through their own battles against breast cancer, and thankfully they are all survivors :) That being said, please take full advantage of your annual mammogram because in each case I've mentioned above, it was early detection that saved their lives. Yes, it's (o)(o) to (_)(_) for a bit, but it's well worth it!! Enough said, I'll get off my soap box now :)
My rolled roses look like they haven't been watered for a while as I'm still trying to master rolling these puppies up so they look a bit more put together. If anyone has any tips, I'd love the advice! Until then, hopefully the half pearl in the center focuses your eye there LOL!
Have a great day. I'm off to teach Sunday School this morning and then we are having our Thanksgiving dinner tonite so it's going to be a busy day. Bonus: I get to continue my thanksgiving by celebrating some acknowledgements: I won last week's JUGS challenge with this card and was selected as a runner up at the Friday Mash up with this card.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian readers, and to the rest of you, thank you for stalking, reading, commenting on my blog. You are all part of what I am thankful for (((hugs))).

Marisa, this is beautiful!!!! Love the cluster of roses and that sweet pink ribbon! I think your roses look just fine. I find patterned paper a bit more pliable or felt is soooo easy to roll! I have crumpled up my card stock die cuts prior to rolling as well - it breaks down the paper a bit to make it a little more forgiving! Happy rolling!
Beautiful card and a great sentiment. I think your roses look fine. Love everything about your card. Have a Blessed Sunday.
Marisa, this is beautiful! I don't see anything wrong with your rolled roses! I have trouble with them myself :(
Congrats on your wins! WTG!

Wow, this is a gorgeous circle card! Love the embossed heart BG and your roses are lovely! I can only make them using a petal roller...slit on one end to roll it and a ball on the other end to curve the edges of the petals. Happy Thanksgiving!

Marisa, I hope you had a wonderful THanksgiving. :) And congrats on your two cards receiving honors! Whoo hoo!
I see only beautiful rolled roses on this card, don't be so hard on yourself! It's a great card.
How on earth can you squirm at a skewed panel and not even balk at a circle card?! Ack! This makes me nervous!! You, however, obviously have them mastered. This is a beauty and I think your rolled roses are stunning!
