Just Us Girls #236 - Technique Challenge

JUGS 236 photo JUGS236picA.jpg

This week, Lisa has challenged us to create a water coloured background on our card.

I embossed Stampin' Up's French Script background (don't think I'll ever get rid of this stamp!) on my card stock and then pulled out some Gelatos and water and had fun finger painting :)   I quickly discovered you only need a "touch of grey" when blending as it is a very strong colour.  Needless to say, my first attempt ended up in the garbage can as it was too dark and depressing, the total opposite of my intent LOL!   On my second attempt, I added just a few dabs of grey, and almost came to the same result, but managed to salvage things by adding and blending in some extra aqua to tone it down a bit.  A few black accents and I was good to go.

The rest of the  JUGS team, along with the first appearance of our April Guest Designer Lee Anne, have some wonderful samples to get your inspiration going, so head on over to the Just Us Girls blog and check out what they've created.  Then put your creative genes to work and add your card/project to the challenge post on the JUGS blog for the chance to be chosen as the Chic of the Week.  Plus if you are chosen as Chic of the Week, you could be invited to be a Guest Designer.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Absolutely lovely! Such a beautiful background (I've never had good luck with Gelatos - but I love your technique!) The quick pops of black are totally elegant.
