Have A Happy Day!

VLV July 2014 Week 3 photo VLVJulWk3pic.jpg

Time to recap this week's Viva La Verve sketch created by Diva Maureen.

For my card I pulled out some fun paper by Three Bugs in a Rug.  Such a fun pattern which unfortunately got mostly covered up.  Anyway, it was one of my favorite colour combos (pink and green) so all is good LOL!   Used the circle scalloped die from the Scalloped Trim Trio die set, though most of it is covered up, and adore this fabulous, big, bold sentiment from Be Blessed. Of course, where there are flowers, there has to be a Flutterby butterfly {grin}.  Finished things off with a touch of twine.

Thanks for popping by and if you want to see which cards I chose to highlight for this week's VLV sketch and Inspiration Photo, head on over to the Viva La Verve blog and check it out.

Well, I survived Day 1 of training for my new part time job.  The old brain got a work but is was a wonderful day and today I'm at it again :)  Crazy busy week here as mom is the hospital again....she had a fall the other night and was in excruciating pain when she tried to sit up.  Laying down is fine as is standing up, but the movement of getting into a sitting position causes her to almost pass out with pain.  Nothing broken (which is a huge miracle as she has osteo!), just an old compression fracture that was aggravated by the fall so the physio team is working with her and showing her how she is to move in and out of bed, use the walker etc. until she heals up.  Needing about five extra hours a day this week!  Being the sandwich generation is definitely not fun...

Everything is happening at once for you, isn't it? I'm so glad you enjoyed your first day at work. Your card is gorgeous. The paper is so fun and I love how you have pulled the colors into the rest of the card.

Know what you mean about the sandwich generation Maeisa! It's hard. Glad your mum is OK and that you had a second good day. You will be fine now that you have the dreaded first day out of the way!
As for your card, well, it's another cracker. I think I'm going to have to try using sketches more. You make that technique VERY tempting with all your fabulous takes on them. xxx

Wow - that is just how things happen! You get a part time job and then someone gets hurt or starts some giant project you need to help with! Urgh! Hope you Mom heals fast. Hope your part-time job is really fun!

Your card is happy and sweet and so colorful and fun. Will cheer up anyone who sees it, let alone the person who gets it. Fun. Hugz!

This card just screams happy all over it's cute layered-and-patterned face, Marisa! You amaze me with that skill!

I'm sorry your mom fell and is in so much pain. I'm sure you are a fantastic daughter and having you there is helping her tremendously; some day your children will be there for you as life cycles through the generations. What a blessing for all of you that she didn't have another fracture. I pray she recovers soon so you don't feel quite so squished! Hugs, Darnell

Such a gorgeous card, Marisa, filled with elements that fit the 'happy' sentiment perfectly (especially the flutterby!). Great to hear that your first day at work was a positive! You'll be into the rhythm in no time - and the staff will love having you in their midst! Sending prayers for your mom to have a speedy recovery, and for you, too! I agree with Darnell: you're an awesome daughter, doing everything possible to help out your mom. She's blessed to have you nearby, as you are to have her. Feeling squished isn't fun...but you're strong, compassionate and loving. Those ingredients make you an excellent 'sandwich' *grin*
