Today I am combining this week's Mojo Monday sketch with the next Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge as the two go together like peanut butter and jelly lol!
With an insanely busy week last week due to my MIL having colon cancer surgery and hubby being over on the Island with her most of the week leaving me to be a single parent. I had to use my time wisely and double up where ever I could as I spent many hours at various soccer fields while my son reffed or played. I jammed out for a few games as it was getting to wet and cold for this mama standing on the sidelines. A warm car and my Kindle with a view of the field was a good compromise I think wink, wink {grin}.
I am glad to say my MIL's surgery went well. She did end up with an ileostomy bag after all, however, the surgeon said she can have surgery to reverse it 2 - 6 months from now which is great news!! Now we await the pathology reports on the surrounding tissue samples. Otherwise, she is doing really well, good colour, energy and fight to get back home so she can sleep in her own bed as soon as she can - heaven help anyone who tries to slow her down too LOL!! She is a fighter and I love that about her!
I made this card to give to hubby as he has been such a great support to his mom over the past few months. It is never easy to see your parents suffer and I am just glad we are just a ferry ride away so he can be there to support them as needed.

Wishing your dear MIL a very successful recovery. We'll certainly be keeping her in our prayers. Love your super fun card!
What a super card Marisa! Best wishes to your MIL and to you all :-)
Sounds like you have been super busy and worried too. So sorry to read about your MIL, but it sounds like she is doing well and going to put up good fight! Super cute card love that robot and his button belly! Hang in there!
Glad all went well with your MIL's surgery.
Love you card, so cute!
Marisa I am so glad that your MIL's surgery went well. My grandmother had that surgery over 25 years ago and there were not options to reverse the need for the ileostomy bag. So glad to hear that medicine has improved so much. Stay warm on the fields, I remember many many cold wet and damp days on the soccer fields running from one game to the next with our two--busy times that I miss now. An adorable masculine robot card, the spiral clip is the perfect finishing touch!
Hoping your MIL will continue to improve daily, Marisa! I love this sweet card...that robot is adorable!
Oh, Marisa, you've had a busy time, and I am so glad to hear your MIL has come through the surgery and is now awaiting the pathology report. I pray that all will be well and that she will have the reverse surgery done with no further complications. Praying for you all, and I'm so glad to hear that she is a fighter. We all need that during times like she is going through. And, wow, you've been a busy mom with your son while your dear hubby has been caring for his mom. I know your hubby will love this card and will enjoy getting back to a little more normal speed for you all. I love the cut "bot" and your usual great take on the sketch! Hugs, sweet friend!
Love these colors...so perfect for a guy card! Your life sounds extremely hectic! I remember those days of constant chauffeuring, game going, etc. Glad to hear you MIL is doing well postop.
