Mojo Monday #440

Mojo 440 photo Mojo440pic.jpg

I was in the mood to make a coffee themed card due to the Spring Coffee Lover's Blog Hop that is on right now.

Didn't have to go far as Verve has some great coffee/tea sets :)   I used the newly released Coffee Helps along with the coordinating Cup for all Seasons die set.

After I was done, realized I didn't go with a spring theme or colour combination (pumpkins in March only occur in Cinderella I think LOL), so the Coffee Lover's police may put me in jail, or if I am lucky, just a warning wink, wink.  Regardless, it was great fun making this card and it now calls for a quick trip to Starbucks to satisfy my latte carving LOL!

All the challenge details are over on the Mojo Monday blog and you can also view all the wonderful Mojo Makers samples.  Should you wish more details on the Mojo Maker's cards, you can also visit their individual blogs noted below.

We had a full weekend with my son reffing two games and my daughter and I touring one of the universities she applied and  got accepted to.   My son was actually reffing on campus so we were planning to take a quick tour while he reffed, but as fate would have it (or as I like to say, a total God thing occurred), we tripped across the fact they were having a "preview weekend" for incoming and interested students.  That allowed my daughter and I to attend some info sessions, talk to profs from the history and education department (she wants to be a history teacher),  got a campus tour and an overall scope of the campus.

My mama heart knows this is where she is meant to be.  So many doors are opening to make this possible :)   They have a very hefty tuition which we could not afford short of a miracle, and she has received a sizable academic and financial scholarship that brings the tuition on par to the places she has applied to, the commute is very short (20 minutes), she gets a mentor her first year, classes are small and so much more.  She is a bit of a "deer in the headlights" right now as everything is quite overwhelming now and she hates change, but once she takes some time to decompress, I am praying she reaches the same conclusion without our having to play the heavy.    Fun times {grin}!

Ah, Marisa, first of all, I love your card and love the DP you've used with the sweet little latte cups and pumpkins! And with flowers, they come in pumpkin colors, and your card reminds me of spring with all the flowers on your DP. So there - it's springy - hehe! What a joy to read about your weekend with your son's reffing at the university and how God opens doors in such a surprising and delightful way! Yes, He loves to delight us, doesn't He? And I'll be praying for you all, including thanking Him for His provision of reducing the tuition load, should He lead her there. Precious mom you are! Hugs, sweet friend!

Love your colors in these papers! I could drink Pumpkin Spice lattes in the spring as well as the fall and am sure pumpkins are growing right now somewhere in the world!

Hi Marisa

OF COURSE your card is amazing - perfect balance of fun and bright and such a terrific take on the sketch. But I have to ask DID you get to Starbucks? I wish we had one in our town - no, strike that, Danger Danger...

Oh Marisa, I'm praying for your daughter, your whole family. Its times of blessings like this that we DO feel the privilege of God's presence in a way thats almost totally overwhelming. I am so happy for you. Thank you for sharing your testimony here!

I think you've received some wonderful signs that this *is* the campus for your daughter and, once she's had some time grapple with this exciting, yet sometimes daunting, new stage of life, she'll reach the same conclusion. Sending prayers and hugs that the light will burn brightly for her, guiding her on what appears to be a 'meant for her' journey. As for your card: what else to say but I love it a latte!
Hugs~c
