The True Gift of Christmas

Verve

With a busy, but effective weekend behind me (house decorated for Christmas, company over on Saturday night, Christmas letter written, son's soccer game, helping my daughter study for a test etc.), I finally managed to sneak in a bit of time in my craft area.  The added bonus being it is contest week over on the Mojo Monday blog :)

After inundating you with MME's Lost and Found Christmas papers lately, I figured this Echo Park paper from last Christmas would be a nice twist.  I had a heck of a time finding a second blue for this card (other than navy), and after going through every blue I owned and the back sides of DPs, I finally had to settle on Bordering Blue as nothing else I had really worked.  Nothing like getting to know your paper up close and personal LOL!

The Cat's Pajama's snowflake die was calling my name again and a burgundy snowflake was born.  The distressed stripes embossing folder on the bordering blue panel symbolizes the wood in the stable and gave a nice background for the sentiment.

Thanks for popping in today amidst the business of your day!!  Back on Friday with my Inkspirations card.

Don't you hate it when you can't find a good match with cardstock? I do! I just went through that dance last night, but finally settled on the old Cranberry Crisp to match something I was working on.

I love that you used a woodgrain ef to symbolize the wood of the manger. So sweet!

Oh, you are rocking the snowflakes now that the leaves are all gone :) Echo Park makes such lovely paper :) Glad to hear your preparations are going well. The only Christmas decoration we have up is my little mini tree in the studio...I couldn't resist!

Very pretty! Love the red snowflake. I hear ya about the 2nd blue with EP paper. It's almost a Soft Skyish??

With all that is going on, I have stopped reading my Google Reader. I have missed so much...sigh.. About my circle card, I missed the sketch online, but if I match it let me know and I will enter the challenge -lol! Hugs to you.

This is so pretty. I love that die too. The sentiment is what most forget this time of year. Sounds like you have been busy. I am ready for the holidays to be here. I am hibernating in Jan. I hate cold weather.

This is just darling Marisa. I am glad you took some time for yourself during this busy Holiday season and created this beautiful card. How do we do it??? I don't know, but I think that is why a lot of people get sick right after Christmas-they just wear themselves out...lol Love that embossing folder and pretty snowflake.
