Masculine Sympathy Card

 photo VLVSeptWk4pic.jpg

Masculine sympathy cards are not easy to make...  I used this week's Viva La Verve sketch by Stacey, and the 1 Peter 5:7 verse from Faith Medley.  After humming and hawing for a while, I finally decided to go non-traditional with the colours and added some spiral clips I found in my stash.

My friend lost his father, who he was very close to, and though there is great sorrow at losing his presence here on earth, I know he takes comfort in the fact he will one day see him again in Heaven.   Yet amidst the comfort of that knowledge, there are always times of deep, emotional, heart ache when one misses having your parent to walk through life with, call for advice etc.  My prayer is that this verse will comfort him during those times.

A busy weekend ahead as we celebrate all the September family birthdays, along with a soccer game and my son reffing two games too.  Our schedules are in full swing now, and I think we will have a very low key Sunday to enjoy some down time!

Wishing you a fabulous day!

This is just such a fabulous card. I struggle so much with masculine and sympathy cards and here you combined them together so wonderfully!!

Enjoy your weekend! It's my daughter's birthday tomorrow so we're celebrating a birthday too!

Marisa what a beautiful card, masculine cards of any kind are so difficult to make. Have fun running around Saturday and enjoy your Sunday downtime!

I'm so sorry for your friend. You're right about the times he will miss his dad being herr to help him walk through life. I miss my dad. He has been gone since 1995, and never met my kids. We will meet again though. :)

Love your card, Marisa. It is so handsome, and will surely be a comfort to your pal.

What a gorgeous sympathy card, Marisa; your friend will treasure it for its beauty as well as the thoughtfulness and heart-warming message you've infused it with. Your weekend sounds busy; much like mine: officiating a cyclo-cross race (freezing and windy! I had so many layers on to buffer the wind that I looked like the Marshmallow Man!), my mom's birthday, playing with the kids, drives there and back and, of course, another wee shopping spree! Back at work tired and sad...three more weeks and we'll be heading to Edmonton again! Yayyy...

It is all so true - the joy and comfort of heaven mixed with the heart ache of loss. Your card captures it perfectly. It is elegant and meaningful but the elements like the clips give it a lighter feeling.

Thank you so much for this inspiring card. It is so hard to find and/or make maculine cards of any kind-- but sympathy cards seem to be at the top of this list. This is lovely and perfect!
