Mojo Butterflies

I love Monday's because that means a new Mojo sketch by Julee.  This week's sketch is much more up m alley than last weeks LOL.  It is also the first week of the month so it's challenge time and up to 7 lucky ladies can win $24 of Verve Cash!  I "need" some of that cash as my Verve Wish  List is long!  So....as per the Verve Sketch With A Twist monthly challenge prize opportunity, my motto for this sketch is"  "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again" :D

I had two things pop into my head when I saw this sketch. The first one was to use one of my all time favorite Verve sets Fluttering By.  Just LOVE those butterflies.  My other idea was to use Serenity, one of my other favorite Verve sets.  I opted for the butterflies this time and may just have to make a second card using the Serenity stems if I have time later this week.  I actually didn't use any Costco DP Pack paper this time, but rather some DP I picked up at a LSS and matted it with Regal Rose.  The scalloped circle and circle was made by using my Nesties and the little flowers were made by my trusty Michael's $1.50 mini flower punch.  Can't tell you how many times I've used that punch.  Use it so much I actually bought a second one to make sure I had a back up once my first one wears out/breaks.  I was in a dilemma regarding whether to use or not use the antenae on the butterflies.  They fill in space nicely but I was short on time and one has to be very careful when cutting them out so I opted to omit them.  Instead, I added silver half pearls to the butterfly's body as well as to the flower centers.  Finished things off by using Regal Rose 5/8" gross grain ribbon with 1/4" pink gross grain over top to break up all the Regal Rose in the area.  All in all, I'm happy with my mojo card - but them these butterflies always make me smile :D

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Love having visitors as it keeps me company over here in my little corner of blog land :D   Have a fabulous day.  Back tomorrow with Mercy's sketch card.
