JUGS 3D/Template Challenge

I must say it was delightful to be able to stamp again!  With the kids home for a two week Spring Break my stamping time has taken a back seat.  I am also guilty of filling any down time with some reading - a treat I don't get very often when we are running full tilt with kids' activities etc. during the school year.  Thank you JUGS for the Guest DT spot as I very much enjoyed being in my stamp room after a week off!

This week's JUGS challenge is to make a 3D/Template Decorative Clear Box with a simple note card set (flat), customizable with sentiment tags/labels (see sample ).

When I first saw this challenge I was a bit worried...okay a lot worried LOL....as I don't do many 3D things and I had to get into CAS mode, but once I got into it, I had a lot of fun.  There is just something satisfying about making something with your hands that looks great in the end :)

Since the challenge stipulated making a flat card (aka CAS one layer card), I went with one of my all time  favorite Stampin' Up sets, Terrific Tulips.   Tulips are my favorite flower, and with them starting to push through the ground in my front flower bed I'm giddy with excitement.  Not wanting to wait until they bloom, I decided to bring them to life  in my stamp room.

My five card set contains tulips in different colours.  I used a Martha Stewart border punch along the bottom and added an itsy bitsy knot in my ribbon along the top of the card to balance things off.  The sentiment tags are stamped onto Labels 10 nesties and I ran my Tim Holtz Antique Linen distress ink pad around the edges  for a bit of definition against the card.  You simply need to select the sentiment you want to add to it.

We'd love you to join us!  It's the perfect way to get a hostess gift or year end teacher gift made.  Simply link your project to the JUGS Challenge Blog for a chance to be selected as this week's winner.  If you don't have a blog, you can use an on line gallery with the keyword JUGS130.

Kids are back in school next week so hope to be able to enjoy my stamp room a bit more!  Until then, have a fabulous weekend and thanks for stopping by!

What a pretty spring set! Love the dimension the two-step stamping gives the tulips, and the decorative punched border adds a really special touch.

{gasp} . . . Marisa! This set of CAS notecards is absolutely beautiful! And you've created a lovely box to package them in. Great colors, great design, lovely border punching. I love everything about this! Our tulips (OK, not in *my* yard--the squirrels have rooted out every last bulb--but around town) are just poking out, too. Our daffodils are in full swing! Have fun getting back to stamping again. I'm looking forward to doing the same!

How creative of you! I love the Terrific Tulips too...and for the simple reason that cards using this set come out exactly as beautiful as yours! A gorgeous display of cards and tags to boot! And like you, I've been reading a lot lately...I've gotten hooked on an author and find myself picking up a book instead of paper...Uh, oh...I guess I can say that I'm glad that I do have commitments to get my butt in gear!

Wow, what a beautiful set of note cards. Your CAS Tulip cards are so Spring filled. Very cute sentiment panels too. Glad to hear you were able to enjoy some time doing fun things with your kids during spring break and some time to read too. I know that is always hard to fit in to a busy schedule.
