Another wonderful Verve sketch by Diva Amber. I cheated a bit in that I left off a layer, but love this sketch so much I'm going to make a second one using the extra layer so all is good in the end LOL!
Wanted to combine the sketch with this week's Annabelle Stamps colour challenge as it involves some fabulous fall colours. Was a bit hard getting into a "fall" mood while desperately craving spring, but just love the colours so it didn't take much to twist my rubber arm :)
Polka dots still abound and I am just loving this MFT flower die! Went with some "green eyed" Susans versus the brown eyed ones as it was too much brown. A very well used Happy Birthday Verve Plain Jane and I have a card made will in advance for a very good college friend of mine who also loves these colours.
We are in day two of a three day teacher "protest" so there is no school. Needless to say, the kids are thrilled with the extra days off. Next week is the beginning of their two week Spring Break so they are basically getting a three week spring break with just two days of school this Thursday and Friday. We are taking advantage of the impromptu time off by connecting with friends we don't get to see that often. Truly hope this whole issue gets settled quickly. Education system needs an overhaul....for everyone's sake....
What's In It?

Paper: Dots and Stripes (Echo Park), Early Espresso, More Mustard, Old Olive
Ink: Black

What fun polka dots - I love that you have two different colors on your dot papers (and that one is green - LOL). This is so cheerful and fun - a wonderful birthday card creation. What a dream come true for your kids - 3 weeks out of school! I am with you though - hoping it is resolved in a win-win. Things must be bad for teachers to want to strike though, they are usually so focused on the children. Hugz!!!
Marisa, this is fantastic!!! Love all those polka dots and your flowers turned out beautifully!!!
Enjoy the "extra" time and try not to stress about it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's solved soon too and they can get back to school full-time! :)
absolutely FABULOUS card!!!! Love this Marisa ~ wow wow wow ~ I'm feeling another CASE, may I? Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day :-)
Awesome use of the colors!

SUCH pretty colors together! What great flowers and I love all those polkadots!
I have a friend who's a teacher in Vancouver so I know this is heavy on her heart too. Though it is nice to have those unexpected days off with the kids!
Gorgeous card Marisa. I love the colour scheme and the polka dots. I can never get ribbon to sit so well - yours looks lovely.

Oh, wow! I love this card, Marisa. The color of those flowers and ribbon is outstanding. Wow! again. Do you think I like it? :-) These are the prettiest 'green-eyed susans' I've ever seen.

I like these earthy colors and the polka dots are great for the bg.
Didn't know that the school was out for a strike. eek... that is never a good thing. Hope its resolved soon.
Thanks for reading my rambling about Manning. It really is sad that they had to come to this agreement. He is truly a great player and loves the game for the game itself. DS really wants him in Seattle. I did cheer for them back in 2006 I think it was when they were at the SB. that was the best season by far. :0)
Love the dots, nice bright card. Beautiful flowers.
Love how you used these colors and those flowers are gorgeous!!! Wow....your gonna/have been busy entertaining kids!!!
Such a happy and delightful card, Marisa. Love the addition of the fun flowers.. great colors, too.
They may be fall colors but all those wonderful polka dots and happy flowers sing SPRING! Love the clean lines of your flowers and how the color pops off the background. Wonderful! Good luck keeping everybody on track and busy at home! (hugs)
These are my all time favourite flowers too, once you start you just cant stop! A beautiful mix of this weeks colours, loving the dots (of course), the green centres are perfect!
enjoy your time with the kids, hope the teachers work themselves out soon!
Thanks for sharing at AnnaBelle's again this week! :)
Love it when I see spots before my eyes - lol! Gorgeous card, Marisa!
Love these rich colors and layered flowers, Marisa! Beautifully done!
Oh Marisa, thanks for another beautiful interpretation of a posted template! I love it!
Holy dinah - what a stunner, Marisa! I love that color combination. The flowers are gorgeous and as it turns out, we had the same sentiment picked for this sketch ;)
