A Friend Is

Sorry to have been quiet here this week.  Last weekend was a very busy weekend and I'm still emotionally recovering from it (in a good way).

The CCF reunion was simply amazing :)  Caught up with friends I haven't seen or spoken to in years, and to have hundreds of people spanning four decades of alumni in attendance is a tribute to the vision and discipleship training we all received under Brady's tutelage.  My heart was full to overflowing and still is :)

I managed  to squeeze in this week's Verve sketch before the Easter weekend rush begins (we are hosting and  have company for three days).  I combined it with this week's ColorQ challenge and though I'm not totally satisfied with the outcome, I simply adore the sentiment - particularly poignant based on last weekend's reunion.  Lots of fingerprints left on my heart :)

Chef Jeff (aka my hubby) will be cooking a big ham from our local butcher, scalloped potatoes and some veggies with a side of sweet potatoes brought by my mom and dessert made by my daughter and Jeff's mom.  I will proudly be sous chef and clean up girl LOL.  Looking forward to a great family weekend and the celebration of Easter's victorious message of the death and resurrection of Christ!  It will be particularly special as the God Rod Team (synchronized rod movements to a song) my son is a part of will once again be performing to Arise My Love at both Sunday services.  It is a powerful song that makes me cry every time I see them perform it and I have already stocked my purse with extra Kleenex LOL!  Toss my son's weekend soccer tournament into the mix and this weekend is going to be crazy busy.  Think I'm going to need a weekend to recover from the weekend!

Thanks for dropping by today and have a blessed Easter!

Oh, I have never seen a God Rod performance but I would love to - wish I could go with you and watch your Son. Wow! Sounds like a really excellent weekend even if you will be super busy. We will do the traditional Easter Egg Hunt with the Hunts (that is my sister's last name) - she has a zillion grandchildren. All I have to do is make a Spring Salad. Back your card after my ramblings: Love, love, love the colors and that orange striped ribbon. The sentiment is wonderful. Super mix of textures and colors my friend. Hugz.

Oh, Wow...love that orange striped ribbon and your card is super.

Oh, I love Arise My Love. Sounds as if your Easter is going to be awesome. No, my choir is not singing for Easter...it sure would be awesome if we were. Our first performance this year is during the Handy Festival at the end of July, 1st of Aug.

Your link to the blog was not working right, I came in, page not found, but it was at home.

Hi Marisa,

I had to stop in and wish you a happy Easter! I The card is beautiful. I do like that sentiment and the colors balanced out with the abundance of white (need to remind myself about this.) Enjoy your weekend. Soccer, food and your son's performance, a great weekend.

Beautiful job combining these 2 challenges. I love this sentiment too. I'm so glad to hear that your weekend was good. And may you have a blessed Easter weekend this weekend. I was able to celebrate my birthday yesterday with my whole family as we had our Easter gathering. So meaningful to me to celebrate on the Easter weekend while remembering our Lord's death and celebrating His resurrection and all that means for us - life everlasting.
