Happy Birthday A La Verve

Was itching to use this Verve Happy Birthday Plain Jane stamp so it was the basis for this card and the DP the colour selector LOL!  I used Accent Notes to create a background on the blue panel and the little flourish (for lack of a better word) in the corners of the celery panel.  A few black half pearls to zip things up a bit, and I'm well on my way to getting the Verve release sketched done :)

I'm also wanting to tell you about Vicki's Blog Candy.  She has some awesome goodies up for grabs as well as lots of inspiration on her blog.

I have survived day two of swimming laps and must say, my prior two weeks of laps have definitely helped me not be as tired out this time round!  Cheers to smelling like chlorine I say LOL! Plus it keeps you cool in these hot temps we've been having - double bonus :)

Back tomorrow with my next Verve release sketch card.  It's definitely a "feast" week this week :)

What's In It?
Stamps:  Happy Birthday Plain Jane (Verve), Accent Notes (Verve)
Paper:  Blue, Costco DP, Certainly Celery
Ink:  VersaMark, Black
Accessories:  Corner Rounder, Labels 4 Nesties, Black Half Pearls, 5/8" Pink Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals

Marisa, this is beautiful! Wonderful soft hues of blues. Lovely card! The background paper stamping is fantastic, too! Good for you for swimming. I admire anyone who can swim laps! My dd is on the swim team and she smells like cholorine for 5 to 6 months of the year, but she loves the water!

so happy you're finding time to stamp amid your busy week :) or are you staying up late? EEK!! Love the colour mix here and yes, that sentiment is great, isn't it? I find it inks up perfectly and is nice and big :)

Ahhhh...my favorite plain jane (and favorite Birthday stamp that I own!) So simple, yet elegant and you've certainly done it up right on this challenge! Lovely work, Marisa! Isn't this new Verve eye candy outstanding?! I have a feeling this is going to be an easy order to place - "ENTIRE RELEASE, PLEASE!" =) You will definitely see me Friday! I hope to get some of these sketches done, too!

I see you're busy like me trying to get all these Verve sketches done! It's definitely a labor of love and speaking of love, I adore your card! Beautiful colors and wonderfully clean lines. Those splashes (no pun intended) of black really highlight your design. Can't wait to see the next one!

Oh and you were right...that was a pop can lid thingy on my ribbon...smart girl you are!!! My hat is off to you and your swimming....I need to find something I love and just do it!!

I commented earlier on your card, but somehow it never went through, so I'll say it again...love the blues and especially the BG you created! I had to laugh at your comment about me changing my blog BG so often...yep...I'm one of those who changes my furniture around, too! You gotta look before you sit in my house because the chair may not be where it was yesterday! :-)

Oh how I wish I had a pool to jump in to right now! It would feel heavenly! I feel like you've missed out on a "relaxing summer," lol. It's more like a "relaxing school year" around your house!

I'm so glad you've had a little time to do some stamping in the midst of you busy life! I love this card! It's so much better than mine with the same sketch. I think mine ran away with me. Or hobbled... Love that little butterfly peeking over the sentiment. :)
