Vicki is our host this week and the challenge is to use the emboss resist technique. You can find the tutorial here if you need it.
I pulled out Pocket Silhouettes (love the images in this set!), stamped and embossed the image three times and then sponged the image with various inks to create the colour pattern in the background. My initial thought was to have a trio of the image across a card, but the panels were a bit too wide for all three to fit, even after trimming, so I opted to make three individual cards instead. It never ceases to amaze me how you can change things up in a significant way by just switching the colour of the card stock.
Here are the individual cards. First up, white on white. Just realized you can see the dimensionals through the paper on the left side due to the sunlight...sorry!
Second version, cream on cream textured card stock.
This last one is made with Sahara Sand and I added texture to the base panel because the cream and the kraft twine didn't work on it and I needed a little something.
Which is your favorite?
The rest of the Design Team has some wonderful inspiration over on the Just Us Girls blog, so pop on over and check them out. Then put on your creative genes to work and link your card it to the JUGS blog for the chance to be selected as Chick of the Week :)
Thanks for popping by and have a wonderful weekend!
What's In It?

what lovely CAS cards! The white really pops off the colour :)
Great cards, love how you used JUGS technique.
My personal favorite is Sahara sand.
Have a lovely day!
Great CAS cards, but if I had to choose a favourite (which you're asking us to do LOL), I'd go for the cream one. Love the subtle texture of the background.
Gorgeous...I love the color spectrum...stunning. What a great set! I love the second one...the tiny of touch of texture is awesome.
Oh my gosh, I can't pick....lol! All three are lovely!
Gorgeousness! Love all them - no texture, or with texture!
I like them all. My fav (if you are going to make me pick one :)) is cream on cream. I really can't tell you why, though because they are all pretty.
Wow - gorgeous CAS cards using this technique. I love how the image jumps off the card with the simple colours behind it. The white one is my favourite.
Great job on this technique.
Darbaby on SCS
WOW!!! These are just fabulous Marisa! I love them all but the first one is my favourite.
xx
Very pretty. Love them all, but my favorite is the cream on cream textured CS.
Great job on the technique challenge. I have never done that. As for a favie? Hummm, I love them all the subtle differences are perfect. I think I like the cream one the best.
These are absolutely gorgeous! I've never tried the emboss resist technique so I might give it a try!
Gorgeous cards, Marisa! I especially love the 2nd one!
Beautiful cards and I love the way you used the technique! I don't have a favorite...they are all gorgeous!
Love all of these!!! That SU set is one of my favs...when downsized...this was a keeper! Love the emboss resist...looks fabulous!
Marisa...I love them both! What a great technique...I think I have to play along :) !!! Hugs ~S~
Wow, these are all so strikingly beautiful! I'll have to say the white is my fave. You've inspired me to try this technique again!
Beautiful cards, Marisa. I love CAS and I think the white is my favorite....maybe. Love them all.
How could I pick a favorite? They're all so pretty, Marisa. I've always admired those sweet little silhouette images. If you twisted my arm, though, I'd say I lean ever so slightly toward the white version. :) Beautiful inking on all three!
I love all of your cards, but I think these may be my favorites...EVER! SO absolutely GORGEOUS!!!
These are positively drenched with juicy color!
I like these.... classy and CAS.
they are all beautiful, Marissa, but I think the center one with the linen? embossing is my fave!
Very lovely trio. My fave color is white ;) therefore I'm smitten with the first card.
