Crafty Crazy Retro Tags
I used this week's Retro Sketch to make a tag so I could also play along with Crazy 4 Challenges (make a tag) and Ladybug Crafts (snowflakes).
Since I was on a tag making expedition, I decided to make a few more just for fun. I'll most likely use these on cards somewhere along the way as it just about kills me to put a tag on a gift when I full well know it will only be looked at quickly, flipped over for the "from" sentiment and then end up in the recycling bin or garbage.
By no means do I expect people to keep the tags...just figure if they are on a card there is a better chance of the card being kept than a tag - or is that wishful thinking LOL! Anyone else feel this way or is it just me?! The only time I'll use a hand-made tag is for a hostess gift or on a bottle of wine to dress it up a bit. For the rest, it's store bought tags all the way baby!
Okay, enough about my psychological tag issues and on to the actual tags! The tag above uses the Retro Sketch and some I Believe MME paper. I double tagged the tag as the tag on the ribbon added the little something I needed in that space, and though it is a rather bazaar thing to do on a tag, I quite like it.
Love the kraft, pink and brown together, not to mention the heart and snowflake combo - two shapes I adore, and all the more when they are together LOL! Best part is the sentiment fit perfectly on the fish tail of the tag!
This last tag was one I made a while back and never posted as I didn't really like it. After working on it and adding a few things it sits with me much better.
Sorry about the dark pictures....we are having very dark, dreary and rainy days here and no matter what time of day I take the pictures they always come out dark, even after Photoshop!! Welcome to winter on the West Coast - ugh!

Firstly, these tags are fab and secondly I totally agree with you about tags on gifts, having worked lovingly on my creations last Christmas only to watch people do exactly as you say, then throw them in the rubbish - I could have cried! Maybe I should have collected them up and recycled them, I don't know, but I won't be doing it again!
I will be popping back over here for gorgeous tag inspiration! I love these....the layering is awesome!
All three of them look fabulous Marisa. I'm with you on the tag-giving thing. I also know that not all people will appreciate handmade cards as much as we'd like to, considering all the work we put into them. So it's alway good to make some quick cards, too, to send to "selected" people LOL.
All three are FANTASTIC! I agree with the colour combo and shapes on the second....some of my faves too!
LOL at home under our tree....I use handmade tags to dress them up but the backside has a yellow STICKY with the to and from....hahaha....we can reuse ;)
Marisa, these are three fabulous gift tags!!! Thank you for playing the C4C with us :) . Hugs, ~S~
LOVE all these tags, Marisa. So, so pretty--too pretty for packages. I'm with you there!! We use a lot of adhesive labels for all that ;).
All of these tags are gorgeous and I was wondering how you get your whites so bright. I agree about putting handmade tags on presents. Sometimes I use scraps of cardstock and just pen the to and from. Store bought tags are pretty cheap and look good enough for the trash bin. I sometimes make nice tags to tie on my homemade bread that I give at Christmas. Then only to people that I know will appreciate them. More than you wanted to know huh! These beautiful tags will be beautiful on cards or for very special people.
Beautiful tags, Marisa! If only people could appreciate our work.:-) I think they would have to be crafters like us to do that, don't you?
Soooo LOVE all the tags Marisa,my favorite is the last one, it has a great country feel to it!!!
Wow such a gorgeous assortment of tags and way to cover a bunch of challenges at the same time:)
I really love the one with the heart(as if that is anything new for me to love anything with a heart on it right;)) and I love the colour combo on the last one too. The buttons and pearls you've added to all the pretty snowflakes are wonderful.
Beautiful tags!!! I am the same way with tags!! I also put them on teachers gifts :)
All three tags are absolutely gorgeous. You have decorated them beautifully. Thanks for joining us at LCI Challenge snowflakes this fortnight.
