Washi Tape is in Da House and A Giveaway!!

Freckled Fawn recently contacted me to see if I would be willing to create some cards showcasing some of their washi tape.  They have also graciously provided a $15 washi tape gift certificate to their store!  Hello!

Having never used washi tape before (yes...once again I'm behind on the trends)  I jumped at the chance to create with it and now fully appreciate why people love it so much :)   It is so fun and easy to use!  Add that to the fact that it comes in a myriad of patterns and colours and there is no end to how you can use it on a card, scrapbook layout or project!

My first card uses this fabulous black and white washi!  Love the pattern on this tape!  It's so elegant and perfect for a black and white card.  I flipped a recent Paper Players sketch, and added pops of colour with the rose and butterfly.

2012 Faves

My second card uses this fabulous CAS Fall To Layout and some orange, chevron, washi tape.  Loving these chevrons!   Freckled Fawn has them in a variety of colours too!  I paired the washi tape with some kraft and used Twinkling H2O's to colour this wonderful Verve pumpkin image.   A fun, Fall, thank you card which I can easily use for our Canadian Thanksgiving this coming weekend.

Washi Tape

Now for the Freckled Fawn giveaway!  All you need to do is leave me a comment by Saturday, October 6th at midnight, letting me know if you've ever used washi tape before, and if you have, what types of projects you have used it on.  A winner will be randomly selected and announced on Sunday, October 7th.  The winner will have 48 hours to contact me.  Should they not contact me within the specified time frame, I'll select an alternate winner until the prize is claimed.  Good luck!

In closing, a very special thank you to the ladies at Freckled Fawn for this wonderful opportunity.  I may have found a new addiction...!

Have a blessed day everyone and thanks for stopping by!

Both cards look wonderful Marisa. I particularly love the look of the first one. That B&W tape does have a great pattern. I've seen washi tape pop up on several blogs lately, but I have never used it myself since I don't own any. Maybe living on an island has something to do with it. There's no craft shop where you can see new products being featured. But at least I can shop online LOL.

Hi Marisa

I loved the way you used it. i recently used washi tape on one of my cards and fell in love with it. I loved the sketches and the way you presented with beautiful tape. Its so nice that a simple tape brightens the cards even more. Loved your rose, the pattern on the black and white tape is indeed very beautiful.
This is the link of my post where i used washi tape. http://snapkavi.blogspot.ch/2012/09/washitape-flower.html hope you like it. I am already your follower. Thanks for the chance.

Oh wow Marisa!! I too have never used washi tape. (Didn't really know what it is to be honest), but seeing these fabulous cards you've created has made me want to grab some. You have utilised them perfectly. xxx

I've never used Washi tape but I really like the first card you did in the black and white Washi. It makes me want to go out and get some and give it a try. A cardmaker friend of mine LOVES it; but I've not taken the dive yet. I'd love to give it a try and what an opportunity to be given a chance to win this prize.

Lovely use of washi tape, Marisa. Thanks for the ideas. I do have several rolls of washi tape. I think I am a collector. They are so pretty. However, I have used some of them on the inside and outside of the cards as well as the envelopes.

Wow - you have showcased the washi tape beautifully. I love this first card with the gorgeous colours you've used and your rolled rose. That tape is so pretty. Your second card has such a great Fall feel to it - love the zigzag pattern on the tape.
I have never used the washi tape. I've wanted and even had some in my hand a couple of weeks ago and then decided I didn't really know how to use it, so I put it back:( You've inspired me.......now I need to get some:)

Wow! Marisa, these cards are so beautiful. They chose the right person to show their washi tape.

I recently used some on a Christmas card. It wasn't called washi tape, but adhesive borders. Looks the same and probably is the same.

How awesome to be asked to use this product! I love this stuff, and I use mine on cards.

That first one is beautiful with the lace look and your pop of turquoise!
I love me a good give-away...:) Thanks.

I've seen washi tape used on cards and projects for some time, and would love to try it myself. Unfortunately, none of my local stores carry it, so if I won your giveaway, I'd be heaven! I'm an avid card maker and with my upcoming knee surgery, some washi take would be just what I'd need to wobble over to be craft desk and 'play'. Thanks for the chance to win!

I've never used washi tape before and honestly, never thought I'd have the desire to until I saw your card with the black and white tape. How beautifully you showcased it! Ah, my wish list is getting too long so thank you for a chance to win some!

Of coiurse,I'd love to win a selection, so thanks to you and to Freckled Fawn for the opportunity.

Here's another person that hasn't tried washi tape yet... I've been way too busy to get to my local scrapping store lately, and if Michael's carried it, I probably just walked right past it (it's been a REALLY crazy month here~). I'd love to have a chance to try it out!
And, from one Canadian to another, hope you and your family have a truly blessed Thanksgiving celebration!

good for you for embracing the washi tape! I looked back and my first purchase was in February on Etsy :) What fun cards to show it off! Had a glorious sunny, warm day at our Wildlife Park...even touched the snake! LOL

It's on my "to do" list to try out washi tape...even bought some recently and simply haven't gotten around to using it yet. Pathetic, isn't it?! Your cards are fabulous and you've certainly inspired me!

Washi tape is my new favorite toy. I think I like collecting them ( they have such great patterns) more than using them but I do use them.
