Just Us Girls #171

Photobucket

This week's technique challenge is brought to us by Maria, and she has selected the Double Embossed Enamel technique.  You can find it here.  It is really more fiddly than hard and I quite enjoyed trying it out.

I started out covering the recessed side of my leaf branch embossing folder with VersaMark, placing my paper on top of it and then running it through my Cuttlebug.  From there, I covered the embossed side with bronze embossing powder and heat set it.  Final step was to place it in my script embossing folder and running it through my Cuttlebug to create the double embossing effect.  I loved the image so much I didn't want to cut it down too much so I just went with a very CAS card.

For some inspiration to get you going, just hop on over to the Just Us Girls blog, and check out what the Design Team has created.  Then put your creative genes to work and add your card/project to the challenge post on the JUGS blog for the chance to be selected as Chick of the Week.

Back to the soccer field I go today to do my soccer mom cheering, ahem...., yelling LOL!  My son's team is the playoffs and it should be a very good round of five games over the next five weekends as all the teams are very evenly matched.  Anyone can win - question is, which team wants it the most.  Fingers crossed :)

Have a great day!

I'm really surprised that the bronze embossing didn't crack when you put it through the second embossing folder. I'll have to give it a try. Your card is lovely.

Your card turned out beautifully! I would have a hard time cutting this down too - good choice to keep this CAS.
Good luck to your son and his team. Try not to lose your voice from all the "yelling" Mom;)

oops, for some reason I couldn't continue my comment...the iPad does that to me sometimes...hope it's not as cold there as here...we're at -8, which is not that bad, but colder than usual this season. It was -14 yesterday! Glad I didn't have duty!
