Limelight Sketch
This week's Limelight sketch challenge is to make a birthday card using this sketch.
The sketch served as my card inspiration, and though it was a basic sketch, the juices were not flowing well today so it took a lot longer than I thought it would. Hate days like that. Think this mommy needs some serious mommy time after a very busy past few weeks.
I jumped at the chance to use my Verve Great Friend flowers as you can layer them so nicely. I tried a few different DPs but it wasn't working for me so I kept the layers solid colours and just swiss dotted the layers. I hand cut a few leaves and scored the backs of them with my stylus to create some veins. I really wish I had some wider moss coloured ribbon but no such luck so I had to settle for the narrow version instead. Everything is popped up on and the sentiment balanced things off nicely.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend and thanks for sharing a tiny bit of it with me today :)

Marisa, beautiful card! Love the colors & your layered flower:) Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Every time I see you use these flowers I remember how much I want them! LOL! No need for DP either, they look gorgeous with the swiss dots. Love the way you scored the leaf veins, I'll have to remember to try that. Really beautiful job, totally worth the extra time it took to put together! ((hugs))
Lovely flower...I think that's my fave Verve flower! Love your use of 2 different ink colors with your sentiment!
Such a lovely card, that flower is gorgeous. I hate it when I have no mojo. It happens though, I just came back to stamping after more than a year so I understand. Glad to be back and loved seeing your fabulous card.
This is beautiful Marisa...that Swiss dotted flower is just darling~ Your color combinations are always spot on! Great job!
Oh lovely use of your colors - that flower looks marvelous!
oh, you are using some of my favourite flower stamps :) I bet yours are as brown as mine :) The colours and layout work perfectly for this card :) We actually had sunny day yesterday and the home show was smaller than usual, but we found a few ideas for stonework and about selling my townhouse...being that we are in such a small town, we many of the vendors so it was more visiting than anything! LOL Hope work is almost done, hang in!!
I absolutely love this Marisa; my favourite colour combination and the layered flower is amazing! xx
