Simply Adored

Sorry to make yet another Valentine's Day card but I have an extreme addiction to hearts and with this Card Positioning Sketch basically making my card for me, I couldn't resist!   As an added bonus, I was pressed for time and it was a great excuse to cut a few corners and make a quick card....oh the shame of it LOL!

Some fun papers and this delightful Studio G stamp from Mike's $1.50 bin brought this card together in no time.  Love it when that happens :)

Kids are off school today due to a Professional Development Day for the teachers.  Good thing, as they are both sick (cold and flu of some sort) and I'm fighting something as well - ugh!  Think we're going to enjoy a jammie day today and keep the weekend as low key as we can amidst our commitments so we can all recover quickly.

Thanks for visiting.  You are simply adored :)

Shoe Lovers Delight

This week's Card Positioning sketch intrigued me so I thought I would give it a try.

For some reason, this bright pink Echo Park Dots and Strips DP spoke to me, so I paired it with some equally bright green DP - time to bring out the shades LOL!  The bright colours lead to think of a funky card, so I pulled out this $1.50 shoe stamp I got at Mike's a few years back and blinged it up.

Since I have a few friends with shoe fetishes, I had to add a sparkly heart over the shoe.  Needless to say, one of them will be receiving this card somewhere along the say :)

Yesterday was the last day of school for my kids so summer is officially here.  I told them if I hear the "I'm bored" statement before the first three weeks of summer there will be severer consequences - like helping clean out the basement and the like LOL!  Thankfully our first two weeks are busy with camping and VBS.

With summer also comes more sporadic posting.  Some weeks may be great, some weeks may only be my Inkspirations Challenge post on Fridays.  I'm aiming to do three posts a week when we are in town.  Hopefully, I can be fairly consistent with that goal, but summer is a strange beast and I have a long list of things to do with the kids as well as a list of things that need to get done around the house, so I just thought I'd give you a heads up.

With that being said, come back tomorrow for my sample of this week's Inkspirations challenge :)  Bye for now.

Thank You For Grade 2

I loosely used this Card Positioning Systems sketch to make a thank you card for one of the two Grade 2 teachers both my kids were blessed to have.   They are a  fabulous team teaching pair who have worked together for over 20 years and they are amazing teachers and ladies.  My kids absolutely adored them and I  love them to bits myself - still even pop into their classroom for a chat now and then.  They will be retiring this year and I know many moms will miss having them at our school, myself included.

While I'm at it, to all you teachers out there, thanks for making a difference in the lives of the kids you teach ((hugs))!

Still have about six thank you cards to make so I'm off to tackle the next one before the school year disappears on me!  Have a great day :)

Color Dare 86

Color Dare 86
Pumpkin Pie
Baja Breeze
Wild Wasabi
Cajun Craze

Loved the mix of fall colours Riley used this week with the pop of blue thrown in.
I combined this week's Color Dare with Card Positioning Systems' sketch 193.
The pumpkin image is Verve's Bountiful Harvest and I coloured them with Twinkling H2O's and added some black half pearls to the end of each vine for a little something.  I think my ribbon may be closer to Bordering Blue than Baja Breeze, but it still looks good with the other colours so it must be a fairly close match - or so my story goes and I'm sticking to it :)

If  you look at the bottom left corner you will see white stuff on the ground.  Yup, we got 5 inches of snow last Friday night and with the cold temps sticking around (-8C today with the wind chill -- that's 16F) it's still here.  Bummer is, Saturday was quite warm so the sledding hill at the school is now grass but the there is plenty on the ground elsewhere for the kids to play in.  They say we are in for a pretty bad winter this year, and we sure started off with a bang by having snow so early.  Will have to see what the rest of winter brings.  Thankfully, mommy is on the ball as we have snow boots and snow suits all ready to be used :)  Just a bit slow on mounting the snow tires, but they go on next week once my craft fair is over and I can join the life of the living again LOL!

The rest of the Team has lots of inspiration for you.  You can check out their creations here:

We'd love you to join us!  Simply create a card using this week's colours and add your card to InLinkz on the The Colour Dare Blog.  If  you are uploading to a public gallery, please make sure to use the keyword CD86.   Each week, Riley will select a Featured Stamper and showcase your card on her blog.
