Welcome back to Day 3 of Verve's April Release Spotlight Hops!  The Verve Divas and special guest are back for another day of spotlighting our new release! Everything previewed this week will be available to order in the Verve online shop on Tuesday, April 10.

Today we're sharing our first projects featuring the Sentimental Wishes stamp set. This set pairs beautifully with the new Lacey Frames and Lacey Trim Duo die sets.

If you have come here from Laurie's blog you are right on track.  If you just stumbled upon the hop, you can check the hop list below to get caught up.

Adore all the sentiments and word fonts in today's set!  Meep!  Use them individually or double them up on a card - endless possibilities!

I paired the "praying for you" sentiment with the "hope" die from the Lifted Hope die set.  I framed the sentiment with a flower cluster using one of my all time favorite Verve sets, Bloom and Grow and Dreamy Leaves.  Of course, where there are flowers there has to be a butterfly ;) and the small Lacy Trim Duo edge added the prefect soft touch.  Some twine and a scatter for sequins finished things off. Such a fabulous set of sentiments!! Will definitely be well used :)

Want to win some shiny new Verve? We'll be picking a random commenter on one of the hop spots below to win today's featured products! So be sure to leave a little comment on all the blogs below to increase your chances! Check out the Verve Blog today for the full hop list, a little more about our new products and all the prize info and deadlines!

Mojo Monday 400!!

 photo Mojo400pic.jpg

We are celebrating Mojo Monday's 400th sketch today!!  Julee has been providing us with her amazing sketches for eight years, and that is something to celebrate indeed!!

The team had some fun doing a little research, and I discovered my very first Mojo Monday sketch was #39 all the way back in 2008!  My first Mojo Monday win was sketch #170 and I had the honor of being asked to be a Mojo Maker starting with sketch #253, a huge bucket list item checked off my list!  I simply ADORE Julee's sketches and many of my favorite cards are made with one of her sketches.  A huge congrats to you, Julee, and thank you for so many amazing sketches over the years ((hugs))!!

Today's sketch is Julee's very first Mojo Sketch, and since it is the first Monday of the month, it is also contest week!  Lots of things to celebrate today :)

Out came my hoarded In Bloom MME papers as the lovely flower in the corner was the perfect filler for the top of the sketch.  Of course, where there is a flower there has to be a butterfly wink, wink.  My butterfly of choice was from Die Sidekicks and the sentiment is from Hope Blooms.

All the challenge details are over on the Mojo Monday blog and you can also view all the wonderful Mojo Makers samples.  Should you wish more details on the Mojo Maker's cards, you can also visit their individual blogs noted below.

It's back to work this week, and unfortunately my To Do List got blown out of the water.  What was supposed to be a quiet week for me to get lots done around the house, ended up being an extremely busy one with lots coming up unexpectedly and kids needing to go in every direction and then some.  Will have to slowly chip away at my list as time permits rather than do my planned blitzkrieg.  Flexibility is definitely the name of the game when you have kids LOL!

Enjoy the sketch, thanks for popping by and have a fabulous day

Mojo Monday #399

 photo Mojo399pic.jpg

Love making tall and skinny sketches and this sketch was perfect for a masculine "feel better soon" card I wanted to make for a member of our Bible Study who just had a knee replacement.   Hurts just thinking about it!

Used Verve's Feel Better Soon Plain Jane and added twine, stars and hardware to keep things on the masculine side.  Hope he likes it and can't wait to see him up and about again for a little while anyway, as the second knee is schedule for replacement towards the end of this year.

All the challenge details are over on the Mojo Monday blog and you can also view all the wonderful Mojo Makers samples.  Should you wish more details on the Mojo Maker's cards, you can also visit their individual blogs noted below.

Have the week off work and the focus will be my on going assault on the basement (how do things magically appear down there LOL!) and if all goes well, some extra crafty time.

Thanks for popping in!

Mojo Monday #393

Mojo 393 photo Mojo393pic.jpg

I must say, Mondays are always brighter because of Mojo Monday sketches :)

This week's sketch has some great angles in it and allows for a twist from the traditional banner shape - love it!

My LSS had some We R Memory Keepers papers which I tripped across last Friday and I had to use them {grin}.  Orange is a bit of an under loved colour so I jumped at the chance to showcase it on my card.   The sentiment is Verve's Feel Better Plain Jane and you are already very well acquainted with their Flutterby die wink, wink.  A few accessories to dress things up a bit and I was good to go.

Got my moss hanging baskets from Costco this weekend and it was so nice to actually have some colour on them this year so you know what you are getting!   Last year, we had such a cold, wet winter that they were basically moss baskets with greenery in them so you were picking blind as to what colour combination you would get once they bloomed LOL!  Happy to see our rhododendrons starting to bloom, and I can't wait to plant my outdoor baskets in a month or so!  Yes, my love for flowers is not only limited to cards :)

Have a fabulous week and enjoy the sketch!

Feel Better Soon

Get Well photo GetWell.jpg

Needed a get well card for some dear friends who both recently underwent kidney operations.  The wife, had a full transplant, and her husband donated his kidney to a person who required one so his wife could have her transplant sooner.

It was an amazing adventure to walk along side of them with.  There was a pool for ten people, five donors and five recipients and they all had surgery on the same day.  If just one of them would have been sick or had a slight fever or infection, they would all have had to wait!  Needless to say, lots of prayer went into their health and the health of the whole group so it was a go.  They are both doing well and are a testimony to the wonders of modern medicine!

All that to say, I wanted to make them a get well card.  Since I'm squeezed for time and can't make two cards, I used this I {Heart} Sketches sketch for my layout as I had to combine both into one - meaning not too fru-fru and yet not too masculine.  Hoping I did okay.  Stuck to clean lines with limited embellishments (yikes -- no ribbon!!), but managed to sneak in some half pearls, two hearts and a teensy bow on the button for her.  I'll let you know if I passed LOL!

Thanks for popping in today!
