Tall and Skinny Sketch Oops

This card is the card I had originally made for the last Tall and Skinny sketch over on the Mojo Monday blog.  Got it all done and photographed before it dawned on me that it was not a tall and skinny card - doh!!!  Was that kind of a week.  Bonus:  Had another card to post on my blog LOL!

I used Verve's new Cupcake set released this past weekend and some rather bright paper which is not my norm.  Some silver pearls around the oval dressed it up a bit and finished it off with a double sentiment and some bling on the bow.

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - Lovely Leaves

It's hard to believe it is September 1st already!! Meep!!  We have had an amazing summer weather wise and I am definitely not looking forward to the rain beginning again....  However, I am very much looking forward to the maple leaf trees on our street turning colour.

This photo just makes me happy :)  I love fall colours (to wear, craft, as well as decorate and paint my home with) and was itching to make a card using them.  Leaves have always been a favorite image of mine as well, so combining the two had me smiling the whole time I was creating this card.  It's the little things wink, wink.

I picked up the background and created a bit of an ombre scheme with the chevron lines to mimic the colour of the leaves in the photo.  Added a beloved maple leaf along with a leaf of similar shape to the ones in the photo.  A die cut sentiment wrapped things up nicely.

Mojo Monday #361

It's the first Monday of the month and that means contest time over at the Mojo Monday blog.  With Verve's anniversary release having just occurred, this is a great opportunity to play along for a chance to win some brand spanking new Verve!

Love this new One Cup tea set and matching Cuppa Tea dies.  I paper pieced two of the cups and fussy cut the white tea tags to add to the cups.   Added some of this delicious polka dotted ribbon from the Pastel Ribbon Collection as well as a kraft and a vellum heart to fill in the white space above the cups.

Hard to believe it is the first of September!  Our summer flew by - greatly helped by the fact we had an amazing summer weather-wise.  Warm temperatures (sometimes too warm LOL), loads of sunshine, and if memory serves me correctly, we only had four days of rain over the entire summer!  That is pretty amazing for us out here on the West Coast!  Loved the extra time with my kids and it is always a jolt to the system moving back into our full, Fall schedule.  However, we do so with many amazing summer memories.  My mommy heart is full :)

To those who have Labour Day - enjoy the extra day off!

Today's featured product is Small Packages and the Cupcake Frame Die by Julee.  Love the new dies and frame shape!  I decided to make a birthday shaker card, and filled it with some heart confetti I created by using the heart die from the Scalloped Trim Trio die set and collecting the punched out hearts.  Just "had" to use the cute little flag die to add a little somethin' somethin' to the card.

Just Us Girls #256 - Wild Card

Today is a bitter sweet day.  I get to host today's challenge, which is always fun, but it will also be my last challenge as a Just Us Girls Design Team member.
 
With  my new, part time job, filling in at hubby's office the days I'm not working there, and mom requiring more of my time as she recovers from her fall and gains her strength back, not to mention dearly missing regular workouts, there are just not enough hours in a day get everything done.  It has been a wonderful couple of years and I will definitely miss working alongside all the wonderful and talented ladies on this team.

Now on to the challenge!  It has been forever since I made a round card, so that was my shape of choice for this challenge.   I needed a sympathy friend for a friend who just lost their father the new Framed Florals being release by Verve Stamps tomorrow was a perfect fit.  Best part is the bluebells have a matching die!
