Inkspirations Colour Challenge #86

After a two week hiatus from stamping and a rather stressful first few days for my daughter as she started high school, which required many talks, encouragement, hugs, sitting through tears etc.,  it took a bit of doing to get my mojo going for this week's card...  I loved the colour combination, but just couldn't get a layout that worked for me until I found this Waltzingmouse Sketch.

I decided to put an owl in the circle element so out came my SU owl punch.  Love this little guy and gave him an embossed tummy for some extra dimension :)

The rest of the Design Team has some fabulous cards for your inspiration.

Each week Keesh will select a winner and an honorable mention and post their cards on the Inkspirations Challenge blog.  We'd love to see your card posted as a winner.

I'll be working for hubby for the rest of the month, which means stamping time becomes very scarce and posts will be hit and miss other than every Friday's Inkspiration challenge card.  Thanks for stopping by, and have a fabulous weekend :)

What's In It?
Paper: Old Olive, Marina Mist, Real Red (SU)
Accessories: Owl and Bird Punch (SU), Labels 3 Nestie, 5/8" Brown Satin Ribbon, Lattice EF (SU), Red Buttons, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Well, I think this is adorable Marisa...the color blocked feel is awesome with these colors, adorable owl with his textured tummy too!

Hang in there mama, you're doing a good job! Praying that next week will be better! And that she knows peace beyond understanding.

i've missed you! I am SO sorry to hear that your daughter has had some upsetting times getting adjusted to the new school. Poor, poor thing. I TOTALLY empathize.

What a cute little owl card, and am happy that you had a little crafting time to yourself, as it looks not promising in the weeks ahead. See you when I see you!

Love your cute and colorful owl on a branch! Glad you found a sketch that worked so well for you!

Very, very cute, Marisa. I love seeing this owl punch used! And I betcha got a great workout, too ;).

I hope your daughter is settling in at school. I know firsthand how hard it can be to have to adjust to a brand-new situation while feeling totally out of your element! Good for you for being there armed with tissues. We can't fight our kids' fights, but we can hold their hands afterwards!! Hang in there--both of you!!

Oh my heart goes out to your daughter Marisa! I know just how she feels as I was so painfully shy when I was younger (still am really) and starting High school was awful. I hope today was better for her.

I love your card today; the colours are lovely together and I love your take on the sketch. xx

super sweet little owl...what a fun fall card :) Hope the dd is feeling better tonight...wow, I never realized how shy she was. Did many of her friends go to the same high school? First week down, though, hopefully it will get better each day. I haven't much inky time lately either...but I'm back to dreaming of cards during work time!! LOL I'm off to make one right now :)

What an absolutely adorable owl Marisa!! I LOVE it!! I feel your pain with your daughter too. I'm so sorry for her, and for you. As a mother, we hurt when our kids hurt. I hope she's settling in better. Hugs to you my friend!!

This is so sweet Marisa. That little owl is just darling. I love the accent of the three buttons along the bottom. If it is any conciliation...my youngest son asked me everyday for 4 years of high school if he had to go to school each morning....he hated high school. On his first day of college this year-he wouldn't let me forget and asked me if he had to go to college that morning...lol I nearly died laughing. I told him it wouldn't be the same as High School and off he went...lol I can totally relate.

Oh Marisa, I am so sorry your daughter had a rough time...man those early years of high school can suck! I feel her pain. Kudos to you for being such a supportive and loving mama. I hope next week dawns brighter and happier for her. ((hugs)

Your mojo is in tip-top shape! This card is adorable...love the pops of white and you've combined these colors fabulously! Love that embossed tummy. :-)

I think it looks awesome, Marisa. I'm sorry your daughter is having a rough go of it. Highschool is great when things are going smoothly but it's like a bad dream when it's not.

Tell her I said "Chin up, Buttercup!" It only gets better.

Hugs,
B.
