A Verve Thank You

This sketch made me go "hmmm"....when I first saw it.  Took a few days to wrap my mind around it and finally decided to go fall back on my flower crutch.  And if it's going to be a flower, chances are it will be a Verve flower at that :)  So...out came Verve's Dream Big set and my scissors (matching dies for this set would be reeeeally nice....hint, hint Julee LOL!).

I combined the sketch with an older CR84FN challenge of kraft, yellow and a neutral, such a great colour combo, even if I used two neutrals instead of just one LOL! Verve's Curvy Bookplate die was a given as it is the one used in the sketch and I just love it.  A  little poetic license with the top and bottom panels by using the flowers in lieu of the circles and leaves in lieu of the bows, and then back to the sketch for the center panel so the Verve police won't get me ;)  Sorry about the dark picture, was too late in the afternoon to take a good shot.

My daughter has settled into a nice routine at school after the trauma of the first few days last week (yeah!!).  She is armed with a new cell phone (birthday present a few weeks early) so she can text/call me and/or friends when/if she needs to, so I think she will be just fine.  I got a new phone as well so I'm can now text and I must say, this Lite Smart phone as it's called is amazing!  Best part is I got Angry Birds loaded on it at the store and it is great incentive for the kids to do their chores and homework because after they are done they can play it LOL!

Off to work on week two's sketch.   Enjoy your day :)

Marisa this card is just awesome. I love the unique layout-it showcases those flowers beautifully. It has a nice flow for the eye. I love that you chose color and craft too as it makes this spectacular. Beautifully done.

So glad to hear about your daughter....what would we do without cell phones!!!

Ahhh, beautiful colors, beautiful flowers and beautiful take on Amber's sketch! I hear ya about the dies for those flowers, though, we never know what Julee has up her sleeve (I'm now sending the vibe out too~~~~).
So glad, DD is more comfortable now, boy, does that anxiety transfer nicely to mommmy! LOL! We're all in the same boat, it's nice now to get that sigh of relief that yes, everything's gonna be alright....
Have a fabulous day, my sweet friend....glad all the prayers worked! :)

I hear Angry Birds is totally addicting! My 9 YO has it, and loves it. I don't have a Smart Phone, but I do have texting capabilities now and LOOOOOVE to text! Glad your daughter is adjusting to HS. Just one foot in front of the other...

Your flowery card is very pretty, and a perfect way to interpret that sketch! ANd I'm glad you found time to play, just for fun. :)

Really good news to hear about your daughter Marisa. Those first days can be so very stressful, so it's good to see them adapting in their own way isn't it?

And I LOVE those flowers especially how you've positioned them on the card too. Nice balance!

oh, that's good news about your daughter...I knew she would settle in...just the first days that are the worst. LOVE your card today and those cheery flowers that make me think of sunflowers. You are very brave to tackle this sketch...I'm silently avoiding it!! LOL Have a great day too :) Getting some closet quotes this week :)

School is so hard on some kids. She sounds like my daughter. Now she is a senior in college and a social butterfly. Hopefully these years will pass quickly for your daughter. So much stress on kids now. I love angry birds.. :)
